A great coat always tops my list of Fall essentials. It’s the first thing anyone sees so it’s nice to pick one that stands out. I especially dig a good trench coat. A girl can never have too many of those.

When I first spotted this belted, Corded Dobby Striped Trench in LOFT‘s Fall advertising campaign, I knew I had to have it and ordered it as soon as it was available! It’s been a great coat for the season, with its chic horizontal stripes, flattering fit, and lightweight fabric. And the cool details sold me too, like the double breasted button front, notched lapel and epaulets. I threw on a few random brooches to make it more decorative and recently wore it with a vertical striped blouse and houndstooth check print reversible jeans.
