This year has required so many adjustments. Mostly, it has required us to get creative at home since we’ve been stuck in the house more than ever before. In 2020, home isn’t just where the heart is – it’s where work, day care, school, restaurants, and entertainment are. Work from home was a regular part of my life even before the pandemic.
I already worked remotely several days a week. So working from home hasn’t been too great of a shift for me. But now, trying to manage my entire life from home means separating all parts of my day. And that means preparing – and dressing – accordingly.
A good friend of mine recently asked me if I get dressed up to work from home. He laughed when I replied, “Yes!” I told him I follow my regular routine: shower, get dressed, do my hair and makeup, eat breakfast, and get ready to work.

I know you’ve heard all of the horror stories and jokes about people wearing pajamas – or less – and forgetting about the live Zoom meeting they’re on. I have Zoom meetings from time to time, so you won’t catch me looking crazy! But more importantly, getting fully dressed for the day puts me in the mindset to work. If I’m wearing loungewear or pajamas, I know I’ll feel relaxed and that will result in me being unproductive.
Because I’m behind a computer most of the time, I rotate through a few pairs of comfortable jeans and pants. Mainly, I focus on wearing a variety of cute tops and beautiful blouses, and some fun earrings. Do you get fully dressed for the day at home? If so, I’ve rounded up some work from home wear just for you!
