Hey DC peeps! What are you doing this Thursday night? Come and check out Peruvian Connection! They’re hosting a hands-on, educational event featuring their special signature Peruvian Pima cotton – the perfect fabric to keep you chic and cool in this summer’s heat! There will be wine, giveaways, and a rare 15% store-wide discount! You can pick up some pieces for yourself, or get some (under $100) gifts for the moms in your life!
So, I’ve passed by the Peruvian Connection store for months, and was always intrigued by the window displays. But the store was always closed! So I was excited when they extended a special invitation for me to come in and take a tour of the store. I stopped by on Monday night and spent a few hours inside with Barry, one of the store’s managers, and Shamari, the store’s stylist! Barry kicked off the tour by giving me the history of the company and how it all launched with one fabulous alpaca sweater coat, over 40 years ago. Fast forward to the present day, and Peruvian Connection now has 7 retail locations across the US, one in London, and a thriving catalog business. At the center of it all is the 100% Peruvian Pima cotton they use in their collections. It is the world’s softest, finest cotton – trust me, it is luxurious! You can read more here about why it’s so special. In the store, you’ll find plenty of Pima cotton separates, from double layer dresses to basics like super long layering tanks. Shamari helped me pick out some gorgeous pieces to try on (and take home). Stay tuned – you’ll be seeing how I style them, soon! In the store you’ll also find a variety of beautiful, uniquely designed pieces made from rich printed silk fabrics, and lush baby and royal alpaca knits, and gorgeous handmade jewelry, and so much more! Best of all, the clothes and accessories are all crafted by Peruvian artisans and the founder remains committed to giving back to the community, ensuring they receive fair wages, and creating economic opportunities throughout Latin America.
The store visit was such an incredible experience. The apparel and accessories, decor, will make you feel like you were transported to a beautiful market in Cusco. And Barry and Shamari further created a truly welcoming experience! But don’t take my word for it – check it out for yourself, this Thursday!
