80’s music may have my heart, but the 90’s was my favorite fashion era! I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I am to see the best of 90’s fashion making a comeback this Fall. Earlier this summer, Dior brought back its iconic Dior Diorissimo Saddle bag. Since I am one to NEVER throw anything away, I couldn’t wait to pull mine out of storage and start rockin’ it again. And that’s not the only thing making a comeback right now. I’m seeing designer combat boots – with a 2018 spin, of course – plaid flannel shirts giving me Nirvana and alternative music video era vibes, biker shorts, sock sneakers and fanny packs.
And of course, no 90’s look was complete without a crop top, a la Aaliyah (R.I.P.), TLC (R.I.P. Left Eye), and all of the Spice Girls, at any given time. Back in the 90’s, my go-to look was a combo of their looks. Crop tops, colorful, baggy jeans, long shirts, chunky platform sneakers and biker shorts under skirts. I decided to update my 90’s look with a more mature take on it via a crop top and trousers, and paired it with my throwback-now current again Dior bag. And I even reverted to my 90’s hairstyle – a high ponytail that is totally incomplete without the baby hair. Don’t you just love the rebirth of cool, 90’s fashion looks?
