Styling Around Accessories

I truly love New York – there’s no place like it! Since leaving the city four years ago, I love to go back as often as possible, and explore like a tourist. I typically pick an area and roam because the city is so large, you have to be strategic. There’s always something new on pretty much every corner. I visited earlier this year and roamed around Union Square and Chelsea where I discovered a few new stores (well, some new to me, others, new to the city). One of which was Flying Tiger Copenahgen. I love stores that are full of fun and random accessories (accessories are my thing, ya’ll), and this one fit the bill. Think IKEA meets Staples meets Target. I was in complete random and fun tchotchke bliss! If you love things like heart pillows, notepads for the shower, Day-Glo silicone sunglasses pouches and other things like that, you gotta check it out. I snagged a few things – ok, more than a few things because, fun. But my favorite purchase was these sheer pearl ankle socks I picked up there. I could not wait to style them! If you’re a longtime reader of What’s Haute, you know I often pick accessories first and create a look around them. Usually it’s a handbag or shoes. Never socks! But this particular pair was so cute and dainty, I felt they deserved an equally cute and dainty outfit to go with them.
