Happy (belated) Independence Day! Hope you all enjoyed the Fourth of July holiday!
Everyone was rockin’ their festive best reds, whites and blues yesterday. I wore a lightweight floral sundress because the weather hit 110 degrees. But if it were a bit cooler, I would have worn this denim dress that I’ve been obsessed with since I tried it on in Nordstrom Rack. I know which silhouettes work best for my body type so when I saw this on the rack, I knew immediately it was a winner.
When you’re a girl with curves, it’s better to wear something that highlights those curves, rather than hides them. I prefer dresses that have some sort of interesting shape at the top, and are form-fitting at the bottom. This denim dress is also fairly versatile because 1: denim, and 2: it has just the right amount of stretch and shape to accentuate the body. Also I love the peekaboo front which enables you to create different looks with an interesting necklace or a cami or tube top if you prefer a bit of a more conservative look. Trust me – this is the only denim dress you’ll need!
You all know how much I enjoy accessorizing so I couldn’t let this year’s tiny sunglasses trend pass me by. If you’re not sold on it quite yet, you can try it out on the cheap (I picked up these shades from Forever 21 for about $5). It doesn’t seem like more than a passing fad so you don’t need to invest major money in a pair. I’ve linked to several affordable options below. I also added some blue cage sandals, an MCM Baroque shopper and Gucci belt to top off the look.
