I can’t believe it’s been a year since Solange‘s “A Seat at the Table” came out. This album, and particularly the song, “Cranes in the Sky,” was and has been my personal anthem for a lot of things over the past year, including the election & American politics, my career & personal life, and just life as a Black woman in the world. It’s such a meaningful and deep album. I was immediately drawn to it as soon as it dropped, and I’ve had it on repeat ever since.
Much like this Crane Print Longline Kimono. I’m not typically a fan of pajama-like clothes outside of the house, and I prefer curve-hugging silhouettes over free-flowing pieces that do nothing to accentuate my body. But I saw a woman wearing this kimono and I had to know where she got it. As soon as she told me, I headed straight over to the store to pick one up, and I’ve been rockin’ it on repeat ever since.

Are you a fan of my kimono, or kimonos in general? I’ve always thought traditional Japanese ones were beautiful, but never thought I’d love a more casual one. But this year there have been so many fashionable options and I’m loving them all! The one I’m wearing is now on sale for $16 – you can snag it here – and here are some other fun kimonos you might like:
