I love when iconic brands make a major comeback. Coach has been launching a slew of retro designs over the past year (hello, Pacman and dinosaurs). At New York Fashion Week, Coach debuts Fall 2017 & pre-Fall 2017 men’s and women’s collections. They went completely retro for Fall. With a distinct nod to the 70’s, head designer and creative director Stuart Vevers was “inspired by dreamers, rebels and romantics,” as well as “the Great American outdoors” and “early New York hip-hop.” The result is a fun collection of equally modern and vintage styles. Standout pieces in the pre-Fall women’s lookbook include leather shoulder and hobo bags with embroidery and patchwork featuring the NASA logo, florals, chain bags, and mini doctor’s bags, all in hues characteristic of that era: chocolate brown, mustard yellow, and burnt orange, accompanied by contrasting colors and neutral tones. Plus, the dinosaur motif makes a comeback for Fall 2017 with a limited-edition Rexy Capsule Collection, in the way of embroidery and prints, and that iconic Rexy Dinosaur Charm.
