Hey, lovelies!
How was your long weekend? I didn’t do much beyond relaxing and catching up on work. I remember when I couldn’t wait for a long weekend – it was the perfect excuse to hang out with my friends, go to clubs, dance and party all weekend. My girls and I used to take road trips out of town, just to party. Nowadays, I look forward to long weekends to just relax and unwind. Oh, how things have changed!
Also, way back in the day, Labor Day weekend signaled the last weekend to have fun before heading back to school. As an adult, now it signals the time to get back to work. Between summer vacations coming to an end and Fall fashion popping up everywhere, I’ve decided it’s about that time to put away my colorful summer wardrobe and get back to business (aka pull out the less colorful, back to work clothes).
Black and white has always been my default Fall/Winter palette, and I can’t seem to pass up a black and white striped anything (seriously, half of my closet looks inspired by a zebra). I recently picked up this dress which is your simple striped shift, but with a twist – that asymmetrical hem. I love dresses that are a little bit off kilter – it adds a touch extra to a classic silhouette. The dress is pretty work-friendly – just add a blazer and opaque tights for the office. And after work, you can take off the blazer to reveal those fun cutouts that show off your lovely clavicles. 😉
