If you’re a woman, you probably know the waist gap struggle! I have always had a little ‘junk in my trunk’, even when I was super duper skinny, so I could never find pants that fit me well. My waist was small, my legs were skinny and my butt was big. So no matter whether I sized up or down, there was always that annoying waist gap that no belt could fix. That’s why I’ve always preferred dresses and skirts, and when I do wear pants, it’s usually a pair of jeans, because I have always had a much easier time finding jeans that fit, (especially once they came out with high-waist jeans).
Tall, high-waist trouser pants are the best option for me (and other girls with curves) but the problem is finding them. They are surprisingly difficult to find, since low-waist seems to rule the pants world. I picked up these pink trouser pants years ago on clearance at Filene’s Basement (remember that store??) and recently tried them on and fell in love with their perfect fit! The high-waist allowed me to easily rock them with a cropped top – without feeling like a teenybopper. And the long leg makes them look sleek with a pair of heels. I can easily alternate wearing these pants from the office (with a crisp white blouse) to an after work event, with the cape blazer and cross-front top.
