Even though I’m a makeup addict, I always have to remind myself that taking care of my skin & face underneath the makeup is even more important. Great skin really sets the foundation for great makeup. So, before I put on my makeup, I first get my face ‘ready’ with great skincare. I’ve always been a fan of Bioré because they have such innovative skincare products. Anyone else love those Deep Cleansing Pore Strips?! Well, I found a new set of innovative Bioré skincare products: the Bioré Baking Soda Cleansing Scrub and Bioré Baking Soda Pore Cleanser. I picked them up at Target (my go-to place to buy skincare products) in the complexion care aisle, and of course I couldn’t wait to get home and get ready with them!

The NEW Bioré Baking Soda Cleansing Scrub is a really cool product! It starts off in powder form (first to mass technology). You just shake it into the palm of your hand and then add water to activate the powder and it immediately starts to FIZZ! I used it in the morning to exfoliate and prime my face for makeup application. I started with a quarter-sized amount but wound up adding more later. As you rub it on your face, it creates a thick, foamy lather that coats your skin. As I said, the amount I started with wasn’t enough for me so I added several more shakes of powder and again, activated with water. The more powder you use, the more it exfoliates your skin (without over-scrubbing). And, did I mention it has a fragrant, citrusy scent?! It smells DELICIOUS!!

After coating my face with several layers of the Baking Soda Cleansing Scrub, I let it sit for a few minutes. While it goes on creamy, it dries like a face mask! It felt like I was getting an at-home facial! The cleanser felt kinda tight on my skin once it dried, and it tingled my face. I could practically feel the baking soda cleanser penetrating and purifying my pores, dissolving deep down dirt and oil. It’s great for combination skin. After a minute or two, I easily rinsed it off, wiping away extra dry areas with a wet washcloth. My skin was still tingling (in a good way, of course!) and felt soft to the touch. Is it too soon to say this powder scrub is going to be my new favorite skincare product?! I love the unique take on the traditional facial cleanser!

The next morning, I tried the Bioré Baking Soda Pore Cleanser. If you’re looking for a deeper cleanser/exfoliator, this is the one for you! It features a dual-action baking soda formula that dissolves deep down dirt & oil while gently exfoliating, giving you purified pores in just two days! While I worked it into a lather while massaging it onto my face, I could definitely feel it working! After rinsing it off, my skin felt soft and smooth and clean as a whistle!
