It’s throwback Thursday, and what better way to celebrate than with some throwback style? I grew up in the 90’s, when during a time when denim overalls first became fashionable, thanks to brands like Guess and Cross Colours, and celebrities like TLC and Will Smith on “The Fresh Prince of Bel Air.” And this year it seems every era is making a comeback. We’ve got 70’s fringe and flared jeans; 80’s colors and prints, and 90’s distressed denim skirts and overalls. Back in my high school days, overalls came in two varieties: farmer, or hip hop style. And I proudly wore them both. I rocked my oversized blue denim overalls (one strap down, of course), and also my bright red Cross Colours oversized overalls, paired with an even more oversized print T-shirt and backwards hat, à la TLC. Thankfully, this new crop of overalls isn’t quite so…ahem…trendy. The new versions are sleeker and slimmer – like skinny and straight leg jeans with an overalls top.
