This Sunday is the event of the year for fashion and film lovers: the 87th Annual Academy Awards! It’s often called the Superbowl of fashion since it’s the final awards show of the season, and it brings out the best in red carpet glamour. I always watch as much to see which films are awarded as I do to see the gorgeous gowns and red carpet hair and beauty trends.
Last year I watched the Oscars at a private viewing party; this year I’ll be watching at home with friends and family from the comfort of my luxurious living room. And we’ll be nibbling on some yummy treats: champagne and chocolate covered strawberries, red velvet mini cupcakes, popcorn and my favorite candy – M&M’S!

M&M’S sent over three bags for me to sample just in time for the big event: Milk Chocolate: The classic, bite-sized M&M’S® candy; M&M’S Peanut and M&M’S Crispy – back by popular demand! They’re the perfect candy for entertaining – plus, M&M’S and movies go together perfectly and are an ideal match for enjoying an award show or movie-watching experience. My friends and family love to grab them by the handful. But for a party, I love to mix them with other things for a yummy treat! For the Academy Awards, I plan to make a quick and easy M&M’s creation. All you need is a bag of kettlecorn popcorn, marshmallows and M&Ms. (You can mix and match between varieties but I prefer to use the classic milk chocolate kind). First, pop a bag of popcorn. Let it cool a bit. Then, gently press a few M&M candies into the marshmallows. Next, mix the M&M covered marshmallows into a bowl with the popcorn and microwave for about 15-20 seconds. You should have a nice, sticky and gooey mixture. Finally, sprinkle a few M&Ms of your choice on top and voila – you’re ready to party! With their colorful candy shells and delicious flavors, M&M’S make any special occasion sweeter.
