As the weather gets warmer and we start to sweat more, our skin also starts to break out. It can be stressful dealing with oily skin, breakouts and acne. While makeup can hide a lot of imperfections, I like using skin care to deal with breakouts when they arise. I stock up on Mario Badescu products to have on hand whenever breakouts occur.
My favorite item from the Mario Badescu skin care line is the Acne Facial Cleanser ($15). This daily face wash contains salicylic acid, as well as soothing chamomile and aloe vera to treat and soothe breakouts. I use this twice a day when I’m feeling oily and it leaves my skin soft and balanced, and helps to heal any pimples that I may have. It is non-drying and is recommended for use twice a day.
After cleansing, I use Mario Badescu Special Cucumber Lotion($15) to tone, refresh, deep clean, and disinfect existing acne, as well as prevent new breakouts. This toner is perfect for skin that experiences minor acne. (If you are suffering from more frequent or severe breakouts, Mario Badescu has other toners that are a bit stronger.) The Special Cucumber Lotion contains sulfur and soothing cucumber in an acne-fighting formula that is non-drying and non-irritating.
If you have a few stubborn pimples and want to go the extra step to spot treat, you definitely should give Mario Badescu Drying Lotion($17) a try! This lotion is really unique and effective. You don’t need to shake it – just leave the pink sediment at the bottom of the bottle. Dip a cotton swab all the way into the bottle, then dab it onto the pimple. Overnight, whiteheads shrink due to this effective formula which contains salicylic acid, calamine, and other drying agents. It works well with all skin types and is the perfect final step in your acne cleansing and treatment routine!
There are a lot of other products in Mario Badescu’s skin care line that are specially formulated for acne-prone skin. If you want to add a mask or moisturizer, you can customize the routine that works best with your skin. Shop Mario Badescu Skincare at Nordstrom.com.
