Because of my unique first name, when I was growing up, I never was able to get one of those keychains or other useless junk with my name on it. (This was before the era of getting items personalized online). It seems so frivolous now, but it was oh so important back then. I would stand in the store and turn the rack, as if my name would eventually appear. I even slightly envied my mom whose ‘normal’ name was one of the ones that always made it onto this branded merchandise.
