So we are now into Fall with Winter not long behind. I know it’s a leap to start thinking ahead to Spring, but after seeing all the gorgeous beauty looks on the Fashion Week runways, I’m starting to get excited! Check out these six beauty trends to try from the Spring 2014 runways:
One trend I absolutely loved was berry colored lips. In New York, Michael Kors featured this look on the runway (pictured above) by pairing his Glam Lip Lacquer with lip balm and blotting them together. Berry brights on the lips give a fresh look when paired with neutrals on the eyes and it really looks lovely for spring! Get the look with Michael Kors Glam Lip Lacquer in Dame.
I am all about the glimmer, so was happy to see Jason Wu featuring glittered eyelids down the New York runway. To achieve this look, do your eye makeup as usual, and then use a metallic pigment all over your lid to add that glimmer effect. Diane Kendal, who helped create Wu’s Lancôme line, used the Color Design 5 Shadow & Liner Palette. I also love MAC Pressed Pigments for adding glitz to my eyes.
In New York as well as Milan, orange lips were huge. Bright orange, muted orange, and tangerine shades were seen on the DKNY, MSGM and John Richmond runways. This is one trend that may seem scary at first, but orange lips give a gorgeous pop of color and are perfect for evening when you want to go a little bolder. Bobbi Brown Lip Color in Orange is a beautiful shade that will look good with many different skin tones.
The Milan runways also showcased embellished hair. Whether it was ponytails, headbands, hair jewelry, hair accessories took center stage! For Spring, try adding decorative, bejeweled combs in your hair to achieve the look. Or, clip on a ponytail for an easy way to change things up for a night out.
Fashion Week in London didn’t stop with just berry-hued lips; we saw lots of pink on cheeks and lids too! Burberry Prorsum featured a fuchsia eye look on the runway, while Giles had a much muted, pastel pink look. This look is very wearable because you can go as pale or as bold as you want. A beautiful pink palette for lips that I love is the Edward Bess Baby Pink Lip Palette. It features 8 beautiful pink lip shades that you can layer to find the perfect shade for you.
Paris Fashion Week held the last of the Spring 2014 shows and one trend I spotted during that week was pastel eye shadow. I adored the delicate and feminine hues that are perfect for Spring and Summer. Maison Martin Margiela, Celine and Rochas all featured pretty pastels on the runway. The Giorgio Armani Spring Eye Palette is perfect if you want to try some pastel looks for yourself this spring.
Which beauty trends are you looking forward to rocking this spring?
