Last week I visited Donna Karan’s Urban Zen organization to take a sneak peek at the Haitian Artisan Project – an incredible installation featuring works by Haitian artists and other pieces inspired by the Haitian culture plus another special initiative: “Fashion for Haiti: One Million Hearts.”
Karan enlisted 150 designers and CFDA members, including Narciso Rodriguez, Tory Burch, Oscar de la Renta, Betsey Johnson and Olivier Theyskens, to design papier-mâché hearts for a celebrity charity auction on eBay to raise money for the Haitian Artisan Project. 100% of proceeds from the auction will benefit the initiative.
The auction began yesterday, April 22, and runs through May 2. With Mother’s Day soon approaching, consider one of these hearts as the perfect charitable gift for a woman you know and love!
