As designer collaborations are more and more becoming the norm, it’s interesting to see which designers are going to collaborate, and with which retailers. J.C. Penney (now ‘jcp‘)jumped into the designer collaboration fray years ago and is continuing with guest designer collections from very well known as well as emerging designers.
During New York Fashion Week, I was invited to celebrate The Daily Front Row‘s 10th anniversary party/gifting suite at Stone Rose Lounge in Time Warner Center, and I got the chance to check out (and take home) pieces upcoming Duro Olowu for jcp collaboration. If you’re not familiar with Duro Olowu, you should get to know him! The Nigerian-born, London-based designer is famous for his vibrant and whimsical prints and patterns, and he’s bringing his fun and keen design eye to jcp. Inspired by “American classics with global flair,” the exclusive Duro Olowu for jcp collection features more than 70 pieces of printed apparel, accessories and home goods, all retailing for under $100. The line launches March 1 in roughly 530 jcpenney stores and online at jcp.com.
