This past weekend I hit up the 8th annual AfroPunk Festival in Brookyln. The two-day, FREE(!) event was held at Commodore Barry Park in Brooklyn, and was some of the most fun I’ve had this summer. Merging the best in Afro/punk/pop/soul music, performers like Erykah Badu, Gym Class Heroes, Janelle Monae, Das Racist, Alice Smith and more, graced the stages, while skaters and BMX-ers did their thing on custom built ramps. There were food trucks galore, cool clothing and jewelry vendors, plenty of drinks and amazing street style. Everyone really brought out the best of the best. I’m talking edgy, over-the-top fashion, beauty and hair. Blue lipstick! Rainbow jeans! Wild prints! I saw it all, and more.
Check out some of the most interesting looks I snapped while browsing the festival grounds:
What do you think of everyone’s style?
