One of the joys of New York is people-watching. In particular, fashion-spotting while people-watching. I love to spend time in Brooklyn, especially for that reason. Brooklyn fashion is like no other – it’s effortless, highly individualized, edgy and totally unique. I spent last Sunday brunching and then shopping at the Brooklyn Flea, where I got a huge dose of fashion inspiration, from the vendors to the shoppers.
One trend at the BK Flea was vintage, natch – it’s a flea market! I saw a ton of vintage designer bags (in GREAT condition, I might add), plus funky retro sunglasses, furniture and other little knick knacks. And the best display of ‘vintage’ was a lady I spotted dressed in chic acid-washed jeans, a tube top and print headband. A perfect mix of mod-meets-80’s style! (Later, inspired by the vintage items I spotted, I picked up a funky squiggle print trench coat that I can’t wait to wear!)
But the real trend of the day seemed to be prints, prints and more prints! I spied a fashion-forward couple rocking a variety of paint prints, as well as some other fashionistas sporting fun printed fashions, like stripes mixed with beading and a pop of neon, tribal print dresses and pastel colorblock paired with pastel tie-dye. I rocked an anchor-print dress with contrasting butterfly-print nail decals and accessorized with blue and gold bracelets, a chunky link necklace and a mod statement ring.
The BK Flea was a great spot for fashion spotting, fashion inspiration and great accessory finds. And the Intel Ultrabook, the ‘Ultimate Accessory for every Fashionista‘, embodies some of the trends I saw there. The long battery life is like those vintage pieces; it’s timeless & durable. It’s ultra stylish and sleek – at less than an inch thick, the lightweight and highly portable Ultrabook™ is easy to grab and go anywhere, just like some of the ‘grab and go’ looks in Brooklyn. And it’s got portability and style.

[…] In my previous post for Intel, I shared with you my personal style along with fashion inspiration at the Brooklyn Flea. For this post, I did a bit of window shopping. Walking around NYC window shopping was one of my favorite things to do when I first moved to the city. It was always interesting to see what was new and hot for the season! I love peeking in the windows of my favorite mass retailers, as well as vintage shops. I window shopped in New York, as well as on a recent trip to New Orleans, and got inspired by the statement jewelry pieces, vibrant colors and funky prints I saw. It inspired me to incorporate some of these looks into my own personal style. I already love a great statement necklace, and decided to try more prints and colors too! Of course, I’m always into pieces that can transition from day to night, and with the right accessories and colors, it’s easy to do. The Intel Ultrabook™ is timeless & durable, much like the pieces I peeped window shopping, and the pieces in my own wardrobe. It’s ultra sleek and lightweight, like the statement necklaces I saw, and ultra stylish too! Learn more at Intel. […]
