Do you love the smokey eye look but are unsure how to do it? Are you afraid to use dark eyeshadows? I am going to give you step-by-step instructions on how to create a smokey eye look that you can use with any color palette you choose. I prefer to use white, gray, and black, but you can apply the technique to purples, blues or greens as well.
If you are looking for a new palette, I’d recommend Kat Von D’s True Romance Eyeshadow palette in Sinner, which gives you basic black and grey as well as purple shades. You also need a basic brush set like this Sephora Classic Double-Ended Dramatic Eyes Brush set.
To begin your smokey eye look, first choose a light shade of shadow and using an eyeshadow or blender brush, apply the light shade all over the lid, from lash line to brow arch. Then, using a shader brush, take a dark shadow and blend it from your lashes up to your crease, making sure to blend very well in the crease. Next, starting from the outer corner, line both upper and lower lashes with black pencil or definer, making sure the line is thickest at the outer corner. Using a smudge brush, take your darkest shadow and smudge over your liner along the lash line. Finish up by curling your lashes and adding lots of dark mascara.
As you can see, smokey eyes just take a few simple steps to create. With practice you can perfect the look to how you like it. I hope you’ll give this look a try and let me know how you like it!
