As someone who was known for wearing all black in college, boy has my wardrobe changed! I still have bits and pieces of black here and there, but I’ve totally embraced bold color. That’s why I love last year’s and this year’s trends – bold and bolder color! I received a fashion challenge from Kohl’s – to create a bold color look for under $100. I headed to my nearest Kohl’s store and was surprised at how many options they had! The hard part was only picking one look! I shopped from some of Kohl’s hottest brands: LC Lauren Conrad, Jennifer Lopez collection, Simply Vera Vera Wang and Rock & Republic to create this colorblock look.

The purple top is from the Jennifer Lopez collection and I thought it worked beautifully with this coral/orange-colored sheer hi-lo skirt from LC Lauren Conrad. Instead of adding more brights, I added a blush colored moto jacket (also by LC Lauren Conrad) to play up the colors more. I added a pair of opaque black tights from Simply Vera Vera Wang and some black and cream-colored studded platforms by Rock & Republic to complete the look.
