At age 18, most teenagers are just beginning to think about what they want to do when they ‘grow up’. Not Tianna Jenkins. This 18-year-old from Louisiana, by way of Texas, has already chosen her intended profession: jewelry designer. After forming a line with three business partners several years ago, she recently moved back to New Orleans and decided to strike out on her own. Incorporating her obsession with accessories, and inspired by retro art and style, she recently launched her line, LA Vintage Tribe. She began by reworking her own accessories – breaking them down and redesigning them to fit her taste and style. Since then, she’s begun designing vintage-inspired earrings, rings, brooches and sunglasses – edgy pieces covered in pyramid and screw studs, and in delicate silhouettes like heart and diamond shapes. And her collection has already caught the eye of a few celebs! Prices are affordable – starting at just $8 for rings up to $30 for sunglasses.
