Chanel‘s Fall 2011 Couture collection is everything you’d imagine a Chanel collection to look like. There were tons of boxy-cut tweed jackets, pencil skirts and peplum-style suits, plus mid-length wool coats. The entire collection was full of menswear-inspired silhouettes and heavy on fabrics (tweed, wool, feathers, chiffon, mesh and satin were often paired) with dark colors like black, gray and navy reigning throughout, plus a few touches of winter white and hot pink.
A few of the more adventurous pieces lived up to their couture label. More peplum-style dresses were made of interesting fabrications, like feathered skirts paired with plaids, or tiered and ruched chiffon to create a balloon effect. Our faves though were the geometrically cut looks, like the one shoulder heavily studded top, and mesh pieces with metallic detail.
