The cork platform wedge sandal is the ‘It’ shoe for summer, and luckily there’s an option for every wallet! Of course Christian Louboutin seemed to launch the trend, beautifully, with the Christian Louboutin Super Dombasie Patent Leather & Cork Platform Sandals ($595). The shoes features patent leather, a thin ankle strap and a 6 1/3″ heel, though the platform is about half of the height, so it feels like your average 3″ high shoe.

If $595 is too pricey for you, try the similarly designed bebe Leah Cork Wedge Sandal, ($85.99). These cork wedge peep toe heels feature a patent leather upper, also with a skinny ankle strap, accented with a removable gingham-print flower. These shoes are slightly lower, with a 5.5″ heel and 1.5″ platform.

Finally, there’s the Steve Madden Shazzam Platform ($158). This shoe is more over-the-top than the others, and perfect for a party! It features a synthetic sole with a 6.5″ heel and a platform height of 2.75″. The top features natural-hued leather and a gold glitter-covered platform.

So who did it better? The Christian Louboutin ‘Super Dombasle’, the bebe ‘Leah’ cork wedge or the Steve Madden ‘Shazam’?
