While we still haven’t completed our summer wardrobe shopping, we’re already previewing the H&M Autumn/Winter 2011 collection. H&M describes the line in one word – ‘elegance’. The 70’s glam-inspired pieces are truly elegant – both in color and silhouette. Women’s apparel consists of wide-legged, tailored pants, billowy blouses, voluminous knitwear and sleek, silky dresses, faux furs, skirts, blazers, and ponchos. There are a few patterns and prints throughout that are perfect for Fall, and we love the mixing of florals, paisley, and check prints with a color palette of muted jewel tones and neutrals like camel, cognac, burgundy, pumpkin, brown and cream. Materials used are tweed and flannel, leather and suede, silk, lace, brocade, corduroy, Tencel and other sustainable fabrics, as H&M is dedicated to using ‘greener’ materials. The key accessories in the collection include leather belts, bags, boots and gloves, plus shawls and hats.
H&M’s Head of design, Ann Sofie Johansson said: “I’m particularly fond of this collection because it’s so easy to wear, so grown up yet totally of the moment and with such great fashion attitude. Most pieces are fashion classics updated with a new silhouette, shape or simply new styling.”
