We love it when we come across a haute new handbag designer. barr + barr is a line of luxe leather handbags (and now shoes), created by Helen Barr – a fine artist and founding publisher of Sassy Magazine. Though new to us, the handbag line actually launched in 2000, and Helen won a prestigious Rising Star Award from Fashion Group International in 2004. And there’s no question why – barr + barr handbags are classic, handcrafted, beautifully designed and very well-made bags!
The bags are created with Helen’s artistic background in mind. She’s said to be inspired by weaving, sculpture and fabric design, and you can see these details in the bags! We love the extra special touches like her hand-stitched bags, signature love letter lining, and use of environmentally-responsible leathers. And that’s not all – barr + barr bags come in only the finest buttery calfskin, plus reptile and croc-embossed leathers, in a wide array of bright, attention-grabbing colors plus neutral tones like grey, brown and of course, basic black. Some of the bags are structured; some are slouchy, but all are must-haves!
What’s Haute has partnered with barr + barr to giveaway this gorgeous Zippered Satchel (valued at $249.90)! This contemporary classic is made of pebbled calfskin leather with two front zip pockets, drawstring sides and two top handles, plus a removable, adjustable crossbody strap.
