H&M is dedicated to using greener materials and part of its focus on sustainability resulted in the Conscious Collection. The collection, which will be available in H&M stores starting Thursday, April 14, is made of “adapted materials” like organic cotton, Tencel and recycled polyester. We love that the materials in the collection look so pure, raw and almost untouched. The store’s designers were inspired by different shades of white, so the entire collection has a light, breezy feel. The women’s collection includes pieces like dresses, pants, shorts, blouses, tunics, T-shirts and skirts, utilizing romantic lace, frills, pleating, Grecian detailing and draping. It’s a beautiful collection and prices are reasonable – ranging from $9.95 – $59.95.
Ann-Sofie Johansson, H&M Head of design said: “It’s not just about organic cotton any more, the possibilities for creating a complete fashion statement with eco smarter materials are huge now. By designing recurring Conscious Collections we have the opportunity to show in a variety of ways what’s possible using more sustainable fabrics. Shades of white are the season’s biggest fashion trend and it feels right for this collection. White creates a romantic feeling with lace and Broderie Anglaise.”
