The tragedy in Japan due to the earthquake and tsunami was and continues to be truly heartbreaking. We should all do what we can to help. The American Red Cross is always one of the best ways to directly donate money that helps provide aid, medical care, food and shelter, but fashion designers and celebrities have also stepped up to help, creating fashionable ways to give and help those in need in Japan. –Solange Knowles announced on Twitter that her son Daniel ‘Juelz’ Smith was designing a collection of watercolor painted ‘Juelz for Japan’ T-shirts to benefit Peace Winds Japan (PWJ).
-Olympic figure skater Johnny Weir teamed up with fashion designer Tadashi Shoji to create the “We Believe in You” commemorative Japan Relief T-Shirt. Buy the shirt for $25 on Weir’s website or call 1-877-TADASHI. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the Japanese Red Cross.
-Handbag designer Rebecca Minkoff is selling six select Japan Relief bags. $100 from the sale of each will be donated to the Red Cross.
–Lady Gaga created “Pray for Japan” bracelets, of which 100% of proceeds will go to relief efforts.
-Fashion designer Tory Burch is donating 100% of the net proceeds of every Japan Relief T-shirt sold through September 15, 2011, to the American Red Cross to benefit the Japan earthquake and Pacific tsunami relief efforts.
