The fashion industry is full of designer collaborations which have gone from rarities to becoming the norm. British designer Matthew Williamson is no stranger to fashion collaborations. He partnered with H&M to launch a haute capsule collection (and we have some of the pieces to prove it!); teamed up with Bulgari to design a capsule collection of handbags for Spring/Summer 2011, and today WWD reported that he’s next in line to do a collection for Macy’s designer capsule series. (Kinder Aggugini and Karl Lagerfeld are the other two designers in the series, thus far).
Williamson’s trademark eye-popping, colorful design aesthetic will be present in his 30 piece collection of vibrant dresses, print scarves, rompers, blouses, leather and suede jackets and more. Expect to see lots of on-trend pops of color plus seventies-style prints, which is right up the designer’s alley!
The line will launch April 13 in 225 Macy’s stores and on macys.com with an ad campaign featuring model Dree Hemingway rolling out next Tuesday. Prices will range from $50 up to $300.
Williamson said: “The collection aims to capture the essence of the mainline brand, with a focus on effortless glamour; dynamic prints; loosely structured silhouettes, and pops of strong color.”
We know we can’t wait to buy Matthew Williamson at Macy’s. What about you?
