Rachel Roy<\/a> is a master at fashion experimentation. She’s not afraid to mix layers, prints and materials, and that was pretty evident in her 2011 Fall ready-to-wear collection.<\/p>\n

The looks were all about mixing. More casual top looks consisted of Roy’s signature trench coats sitting atop earth-toned sweaters, or neutral colored statement pieces like chunky fur vests and thick fur scarves. Striped tops and printed poncho-style wool jackets added an ethnic vibe and belted, cinched waists created an interesting take on the full tops. For the bottoms, Roy went for bodly printed full skirts and daring harem-style pants. And of course there was the draped skirt. You can’t have a Rachel Roy show<\/strong> without draping \u2013 she’s genius at it.<\/p>\n

The other half of the collection consisted of business-like separates \u2013 all with the Rachel Roy stamp, of course. Sharp blazers were paired with print dresses that could easily transition from work to dinner. Bowtie blouses completed the look, and one standout piece was the draped shirtdress with a side sash, that the designer wore herself.<\/p>\n
