\nKnowing what looks good on you is the first step in being stylish. Sure you can wear nice clothes, but if it doesn’t look great on you, what’s the point? When I look back at pictures of the younger me, I often ask myself “What was I thinking?!” because I used to dress according to trends, and not according to my personal defined style. Now I have a clearer definition of my personal style, as well as what looks good on me, so I believe in dressing your body type, and now I buy clothes and dress accordingly. My wardrobe consists of a lot of denim \u2013 skinny jeans are my thing, and bodycon dresses. I know the Internet has been going nuts over ‘sexy teacher’ Patrice Brown\/Paris Monroe, aka #TeacherBae, who also seems to be a fan of bodycon dresses. But I don’t see what the big deal is. She has curves, and knows what looks good on her. Bodycon dresses<\/a> are a fave of mine because they hug in all the right places, but they’re not all sexy, just figure-flattering.

\nIt’s rare that I wear a dress that doesn’t hug my curves<\/a>, because it’ll typically just look like a sack on me. Aside from bodycons<\/a>, I also wear skater dresses<\/a>, which hug at the top and flare at the waist and hips, which is also flattering to curvy girls. But if the dress has some interesting details or textures, I find that I can make it work. I spotted this dress and immediately loved the pleating and sherbert-y stripes, so even though it wasn’t my usual style, I gave it a shot. It came with a thin fabric ‘belt’ but I opted to wear it with a wide faux leather belt, to cinch the waist. I added coordinating accessories, like my tortoise cat eye sunglasses, a brown ombre clutch and blush colored ankle strap sandals.
