One of my fashion mottos is “When in doubt, wear black.”<\/em> (And white). It’s the most traditional color pairing and most of us have plenty of black and white clothes in our closets, which makes it easy to create a classic look! I’ve always been the girl who loved to wear all black (thus being nicknamed ‘Lydia’ from Beetlejuice<\/em><\/strong> by a good friend of mine). Beetlejuice<\/em> happens to be one of my favorite movies so I found that nickname flattering. \ud83d\ude09 Also, living in NYC will quickly ‘turn’ your wardrobe all black! It’s pretty much the color of the city. Adding white was just an easy way for me to ‘colorblock.’<\/p>\n

\nMy usual go-to look for New Year’s Eve parties is a classic little black dress or something sparkly. Well, this year I added a touch of white to two possible looks. The first is a softly structured peplum top<\/a> made from neoprene that is both form-fitting and forgiving. I paired it with a scuba full skirt<\/a> (can’t get enough of that fabric, clearly) and some glam accessories like a faux fur stole<\/a> and gold metal belt<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\nThe second look features nothing but a black and white tuxedo blazer<\/a> and leopard print bra<\/a>, paired with sparkly sequined leggings<\/a>. I just can’t get away from the sparkle, but if there’s ever a time to sparkle and shine, isn’t it New Year’s Eve?! And because I like to go all out, I added a blinged-out statement necklace<\/a>, jeweled clutch and studded slingback platforms<\/a>.<\/p>\n
