\nBlack lips<\/strong> are an easy way to create a vampy or gothic makeup\/beauty look. And since it’s\u00a0Halloween<\/a>\u00a0‘season’, this seems like the perfect time (and maybe the only\u00a0time?) to try\u00a0black lips<\/a>! I purchased my first black lip gloss<\/a> several years ago when Yves Saint Laurent beauty<\/a> launched its limited edition Pur Black Gloss<\/strong>.\u00a0Of course, it was purely\u00a0a novelty purchase. I bought it out of curiosity and strictly for fun, as black lipgloss is DEFINITELY<\/em>\u00a0not a part of my daily beauty routine! I loved the amount of shine it gave – it made my lips look like they were slicked with oil. The only downside was that it came off easily and got all over my teeth which was not cute.

\nI recently discovered\u00a0another black lip option that I spotted at Target: e.l.f.<\/a> Moisturizing Lipstick<\/a> in Black Out. It’s a matte black lipstick,\u00a0and in the spirit of Halloween (and because it was only $3), I decided to give it a try. Unlike the YSL gloss, this lipstick goes on really dry, so to apply, I first had to moisturize my lips with a balm, then dust lightly with powder. The color sets nicely after applying several coats and you have the option of adding a clear gloss on top if you want that look.
