This was my first time attending The Heart Truth’s Red Dress Collection 2009 <\/a>and it was an amazing way to kick off fashion week. Stars who usually sit front row were front and center on the red catwalk, donning stunning red designer dresses to raise awareness about heart disease in women.<\/p>\n

Twenty celebrities strutted their stuff in the show. Following an introduction by Project Runway<\/em>\u2019s Tim Gunn<\/strong>, Amanda Bynes <\/strong>opened the show in Daniel Swarovski<\/strong>, followed by Jennie Garth <\/strong>and Tori Spelling<\/strong>, of Beverly Hills 90210 <\/em>fame, in Badgley Mischka <\/strong>and Betsey Johnson<\/strong>, respectively. Then out came actresses Nia Long <\/strong>in Tracey Reese<\/strong>, Natasha Henstridge <\/strong>in Verrier<\/strong>, Vivica A. Fox <\/strong>in Jenny Packham<\/strong>, model\/TV host Daisy Fuentes<\/strong> in Pamella Roland<\/strong>, Wonder Woman <\/em>Lynda Carter<\/strong> in Carolina Herrera<\/strong>, and Patricia Arquette<\/strong> in Nicole Miller<\/strong>, followed by singer\/actress Hilary Duff <\/strong>in Donna Karan <\/strong>and Katie Couric <\/strong>of CBS Nightly News <\/em>in Carmen Marc Valvo<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The crowd was treated to animated dances down the runway from Cicely Tyson <\/strong>in B. Michael<\/strong>, Dancing With The Stars <\/em>co-host Samantha Harris <\/strong>in David Meister<\/strong>, Valerie Bertinelli <\/strong>in Christian Siriano <\/strong>and soap opera megastar Susan Lucci <\/strong>in Gustavo Cadile<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Athletes got in on the glam act as well, with figure skater Kristi Yamaguchi<\/strong> in Vera Wang <\/strong>and Olympic gold medalist Nastia Liukin <\/strong>in Max Azria <\/strong>both modeling in the show.<\/p>\n
