\"Norma<\/a>Iconic fashion designer Norma Kamali<\/a> is best known for her innovative clothing concepts, like the sleeping bag coat, the high-heeled sneaker, clothing made from silk parachutes and fun swimwear designs. She’s also brought her fashion<\/a> innovation to the masses in collaborations with Spiegel<\/strong>, Everlast<\/strong> and Walmart<\/strong>, and being the first designer to launch an online store on eBay<\/strong>. We recently got the chance to chat with Norma about her latest venture, Kamali Kulture<\/a>\"\".<\/p>\n

The concept behind the KamaliKulture<\/strong> line is simple. Norma aimed to create a collection of affordable, timeless, anti-fast fashion pieces that, according to her, “can be worn for as many years as it fits<\/em>“. Each piece in the line is priced under $100, and ranges in sizes from 0-18, so there’s something for a woman of every age, body type and style. The collection currently includes classic jersey dresses, career separates, swimwear and sunglasses. Soon to come are KamaliKulture sleepwear, loungewear and footwear collections.<\/p>\n

What’s Haute: Tell us a bit about how Kamali Kulture<\/a>\"\" came about.<\/strong>
\nNorma Kamali:<\/strong> After my experience doing a collection for Walmart, I realized that a timeless line that was under $100 could reach and be meaningful to almost every woman around the world.<\/p>\n

WH: Who is the ‘KamaliKulture woman’?<\/strong>
\nNK:<\/strong> It really is every woman. KamaliKulture works equally as well for someone with lots of style and no budget or a big budget and no style. It is timeless, meaning the clothing doesn’t have an expiration date the way fast fashion tends to have.<\/p>\n

WH: What do you hope to achieve with this new line?<\/strong>
\nNK:<\/strong> Create a place online where women can find whatever they need, shop smart and then wear it as often as they like because there is no guilt in the price.<\/p>\n

WH: Your Norma Kamali for Walmart collection was a huge success. Can we expect future, similar collaborations with the new KamaliKulture line?<\/strong>
\nNK:<\/strong> We are live on Amazon.com and Zappos.com. If the collaboration enhances the concept behind the line, we are open to it.<\/p>\n

WH: As an iconic fashion designer, how do you continue to adapt in the ever-changing and fast-paced fashion world?<\/strong>
\nNK:<\/strong> Fashion is ever-changing as is technology. I love both and I enjoy experimenting in areas I have never been before.<\/p>\n
