Kanye West showed his Fall/Winter 2012 Ready to Wear runway collection yesterday during Paris Fashion Week, but the talk of the line wasn’t the clothes this time – it was the shoes. These Kanye West for Giuseppe Zanotti pearl heels, as seen on model Jourdan Dunn in his Spring show, and on Kim Kardashian, seated front row yesterday, cost nearly $6000 at Colette. They feature rows of pearls, chunky ankle cuffs and an open toe, and apparently the models can’t walk in them, but who cares – its fashion! Dw by Kanye West Spring/Summer 2012 Ready-to-Wear line debuts at Paris Fashion Week

With a stellar lineup of models (Karlie Kloss, Chanel Iman, Anja Rubik and Jourdan Dunn) plus a star-studded front row filled with designers (Azzedine Alaïa, Dean and Dan Caten, Olivier Theyskens, Jeremy Scott) AND celebrities (Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, Ciara and Lindsay Lohan), we expected only the best of Kanye West‘s debut womenswear collection. Instead, the Spring 2012 line received mixed (mainly negative) reviews from the NY Times, Wall Street Journal and fashion editors tweeting from the show. We checked out the collection and it’s not bad for a first attempt at a line....  Read More..

Alexander McQueen challenges you to wear the most ridiculous shoes on Earth

We first spied these alien-footed Alexander McQueen mega heels at Paris Fashion Week and wondered how much they paid the models in order to force them to wear them on the runway. Now British Vogue scored a python pair (nicknamed the “armadillos”) and the staffers couldn’t even make it down the hall in them. At 12 inches tall with a towering stiletto heel, these shoes are only viable footwear candidates for one woman and one woman only. You might know her by the name ‘Barbie doll’. What were they thinking? Emanuel Ungaro + Lindsay Lohan

It was the gasp heard round the world, or in Paris, at least, when Emanuel Ungaro debuted its Spring 2010 collection, ‘designed’ by Estrella Archs and Lindsay Lohan. Several weeks ago, the fashion house ‘tapped’ La Lohan to join as an “artistic advisor”. This was her first collection co-designed with new design chief Archs. And the results were disastrous. Trashy dresses, heart shaped nipple pasties and sequined heart forehead stickers were just some of the ‘highlights’ (or ‘lowlights’). Apparently, fashion editors were so disgusted they...  Read More..
