Get their haute baubles: Rihanna and Katy Perry at the Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Awards
March 29, 2010 by Ehmonie Hainey · 1 Comment
BFF’s Rihanna and Katy Perry glammed it up on the orange carpet at Nickelodeon’s 23rd Annual Kids’ Choice Awards. Rihanna wore a Christian Dior dress with nude Brian Atwood heels and sparkly ankle socks, rows oof necklaces and accessorized with a Sutra Jewels diamond ring. Katy Perry wore a very Rihanna-esque outfit - a racy rainbow-colored, corseted chainmail peacock dress by The Blonds. She accessorized with Christian Louboutin sparkly wedge-heeled shoes and a Carrera y Carrera peacock ring.
UPDATE: While performing, Rihanna also rocked David Yurman’s Chevron Black Diamond Tag and Pave Diamond Dogtag necklaces, both in sterling silver.

She’s here! The Cat Burglar Barbie by Christian Louboutin
December 4, 2009 by Ehmonie Hainey · Leave a Comment
Last month we told you about Christian Louboutin’s collaboration with Mattel to create a limited-edition Barbie doll. And now, just in time for the holidays, she has arrived – the Cat Burglar Barbie by Christian Louboutin. The limited-edition doll is super stylish, but would you expect any less of Monsieur Louboutin? She wears a black catsuit with the red-soled Louboutin Differa sandals and comes with 3 extra pairs of mini Louboutin shoes; the Miss ankle boots, the Claudia peep-toe shoes and the Altameche knee-high boots. Each pair comes with its own shoe box and bag. The doll comes packaged in a brown Louboutin box with a copy of Christian and Barbie’s travel journal. Gift it to the young fashionista in your life, or get it for yourself! Go ahead, we won’t tell!

Barbie by Christian Louboutin
November 12, 2009 by Ehmonie Hainey · 1 Comment
Since it’s almost Christmas, you know what that means – a new version of the Barbie doll is hitting stores for parents to fight over. But this time, they may be fighting for it for themselves and not their daughters (or sons as the case may be). That’s because shoe designer of the moment (or many moments as his shoes remain in demand after numerous seasons) Christian Louboutin is styling three Louboutin Barbie dolls, who will come with mini Louboutin boxes and doll shoes. And of course, since Barbie always comes with controversy, the red-soled shoe designer is said to be re-shaping her feet because apparently, according to a Louboutin spokesperson, the designer believes Barbie has ‘cankles’. Who knew? Anyway, if you want these haute couture shoe/skinny ankled dolls, they launch in December 2009. The first in the series is the ’Cat-burglar’ Barbie by Christian Louboutin, dressed in a sleek hooded black cat-suit. Becuase all haute couture shoe/skinny ankled dolls are thieves. Didn’t you know?
Haute trend alert: leopard print
October 21, 2009 by Ehmonie Hainey · 1 Comment

Everywhere you turn, you’ll see that leopard print is ruling both the runways and the real world. Style-conscious, trendsetting celebrities like Rihanna, Jessica Alba, Lady Gaga and the Kardashian sisters rock leopard print accessories and clothing. Even little Suri Cruise donned a pair of leopard print flats. The print works for any woman, at any age, but the key to wearing leopard is to stick to one piece - whether a top or dress; stilettos or booties; handbags or jewelry; even leggings and swimwear. Colored-print leopard adds an extra shot to any look but be careful not to overdo it. Keep the rest of the look in muted tones like basic black or khaki tan, or even a solid tonal colorblock will do. Wise women invest in Christian Louboutin
July 28, 2009 by Helen Takhmazyan · 4 Comments
I finally got around to purchasing the Christian Louboutin Rolando Hidden-Platform Pump and I just have to say that it was a very wise investment. They’re so versatile – I’ve only had the shoes for a month and already I have worn them four times. What I absolutely love about these and all Christian Louboutin shoes is the trademark red bottom. How HOT is that? The Rolando Hidden-Platform Pump is very chic and classy and the red sole is a drop-dead killer for me. As far as price - yes it is steep at $695. However I’d rather have one good pair of Louboutin’s than ten pairs of cheap-ticket shoes. Remember ladies, you are what you walk in, and you’re not cheap.
CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America) awards 2009 - winners and losers
June 17, 2009 by Ehmonie Hainey · Leave a Comment
The CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America) awards are all about honoring and recognizing the most talented designers in the fashion industry, but the real fashion winners and losers at the 2009 awards were seen arriving to the event.
Two of the night’s fashion ‘winners’ were Claire Danes and Kerry Washington, who both opted for full-length gowns with plunging necklines. Claire Danes looked chic in a sleek black number designed by friend Narciso Rodriguez. Kerry Washington wore a sparkly silver frock by Doo.ri paired with a silver clutch and Jimmy Choo shoes.
Zoe Saldana kept it simple in a beautiful sheer grey off-the-shoulder Calvin Klein dress and nude T-strap sandals. Diane Kruger wowed in a red Jason Wu minidress with black embroidered shoulder details and also accessorized with T-strap sandals and a navy satin clutch. A very pregnant Heidi Klum shined in a ruched, metallic one-shouldered Michael Kors dress complemented with a metallic clutch and metallic Christian Louboutin ankle-strap pumps.

The night’s fashion ‘losers’ included Michelle Trachtenberg (Gossip Girl) who wore a silver top and too short/too tight black skirt by Behnaz Sarafpour and pulled her hair into a high ponytail. Ashley Olsen looked frumpy in an orange vintage gown that was just a bit too large. Perhaps they should have switched?
Vera Wang wore one of her own designs – a gold sequined dress with a white tank, bib necklace, netting at the hem, black tights and chunky black shoes. Can you say “accessory overload”? Kirsten Dunst wore an asymmetrical Rodarte minidress that made her look like a wrapped mummy and her clunky grey shoes would have been more appropriate with a pair of jeans. Rachel Roy also wore one of her own designs – a one-shoulder frock with a pretty print but too much going on at the waist.
Check out Women’s Wear Daily to see which designers won at the CFDA awards.
