My style: Black, white & neon (H&M blazer + Equipment blouse + ASOS pants)
I could wear black and white all day every day but to avoid monotony, I like to throw some eye-popping color into the mix. Preferably neon. What can I say – I grew up in the 80′s!
I love these ASOS pants – they look like modernized track pants (another 80′s trend, thank you LL Cool J). They have a relaxed fit so you can pair them with the highest of heels or flats, or even wedge sneakers (if you buy them snug enough).

My style: A sunny outlook (Yellow blazer + polka dot blouse + distressed denim)
I’m a firm believer that the weather really affects your mood, so during the cold and grey winter I try to make my days much brighter by wearing sunny hues! I’m obsessed with the color yellow, especially in the winter – it really lights up my look – and makes me feel happier. I went out last weekend in my usual uniform – jeans and a blazer. It’s a look you really can’t go wrong with. Although it was about 20 degrees and super windy, I found a bright and sunny spot in Chelsea to take some pics just before the evening chill set in.

Haute or not: Solange Knowles in a Just Cavalli printed suit & Bottega Veneta Three-tone leather ankle cuff sandals
One celeb we consistently look to for fashion inspiration is Solange Knowles. She always takes her style up several notches with her mix of edgy prints, colors, styles and hair! She’s become known in fashion circles for her love of prints so it was no surprise to see her at HBO‘s season two premiere of “Girls” in New York, rocking a printed blazer and pants from Just Cavalli Pre-Fall 2013. On the runway, each piece was worn with a brown quilted piece, with black trim. But leave it to Solange to mix things up and go for the bold! Also, she styled her look with a patchwork,...

My style: Fall brights (J. Crew blazer + Topshop peplum top + Vince ripped jeans)
I love this time of the year when the leaves start to Fall and turn all sorts of brilliant tones! It’s truly one of the most beautiful, natural sights to see, especially in a rural area. Unfortunately you don’t get to see natural beauty like this in NYC – so I had to take these pics while home for Thanksgiving. I loved the colors of the trees and leaves outdoors so I wanted to wear something bright too – like my new, hot pink J. Crew blazer, paired with Fall’s hottest hue – oxblood.

My style: Tornado watch (White blazer & peplum top, neon yellow jeans, Vince Camuto sandals, Furla satchel)
What do you wear in the event of a tornado? There was a tornado watch in NYC last weekend, but I didn’t believe it at first. Every time I looked outside, there was nothing but sunshine. It was sunny all day, so color me surprised when I went shopping at the mall and came out 30 minutes later to dark skies and extreme gusts of wind! My topknot barely survived! A torrential downpour (and tornado!) followed, but I was able to get some pics just before it began.
I found these jeans that I purchased in the spring but forgot I had, and I’d never even worn them! Do you ever do that? Buy something...

Get her haute look: Jessica Alba in ElleLauri, Ralph Lauren Collection, Marc Jacobs & Thierry Lasry
Jessica Alba is a busy actress, entrepreneur, wife and mom but she never lets her hectic schedule get in the way of her easy-breezy style. She was spotted out in NYC in a perfect look for when you want to be comfortable enough to run errands and head to appointments, but still look enviably chic. Jessica wore ElleLauri‘s striped Carrie Skirt, a high-waisted silk midi skirt that she shortened to above the knee. She paired it with a simple white tank and a blue linen blazer. Wearing her hair in a high ponytail, she accessorized her face with blue/green Thierry Lasry Obsessy Sunglasses, and...

Trend to try: Floral print blazers
One trend dominating the 2012 Resort and Spring collections was an abundance of florals. Flower prints bloomed all over the runway and are now spilling over into the stores. One particular look we loved was this Floral Double Breasted Blazer and pants suit from the Céline Resort 2012 collection. But who has $3500 to drop on a blazer? Not us. So naturally, we went on the hunt to find a few fabulously similar options that won’t break the bank but still let you rock the haute floral print trend. You can rock a floral blazer with pretty much anything – floral pants and skirts (as seen...

Haute trend to try: Floral prints
The floral-print trend is in full bloom this spring! (Pun intended). We first caught a glimpse of florals on the spring 2012 runways, and on celebrity It girls over the past few months. Drew Barrymore recently wore a vibrant J.Crew Jules Floral Print Silk Dress on the Tonight Show, paired with delicate Aurelie Bidermann jewelry and chunky suede Brian Atwood shoes. Solange Knowles rocked a blue floral print suit at Diane Von Furstenberg’s Fall 2012 show. She paired it with a contrasting orange and white print top and yellow pointed-toe pumps. Actress Tika Sumpter wowed at the Tracy Reese show...

My Style: Baltimore Harbor (Zara blazer + BB Dakota top +DvF pants + Celine Luggage Tote)
Just a few weeks ago, the weather was just perfect – sunny and balmy outside. It certainly didn’t feel like Fall or Winter. I took these pics while visiting Baltimore Harbor on a gorgeous day, filled with strolling by the water and eating tons of crabs. Yum. A blazer is my usual go-to piece for between-seasons weather – you know, when a coat is too much but you still need a light covering? I paired it with a lightweight top by BB Dakota and these super comfortable DvF moto pants that are simply perfect for long distance travels. These Kelsi Dagger flat gladiator sandals are my...

Style inspiration? Get the look: Michele Bachmann’s white military jacket
We never thought we’d be taking style cues from Michele Bachmann but famous people and fashion sometimes make strange bedfellows. We couldn’t help but notice her white military jacket (possibly this one by Lafayette 148 New York) that she wore at Tuesday night’s GOP debate in Las Vegas (and previously at the GOP Presidential Pre-Debate Party). The jacket was just as odd and out-of-place as her political stance on A LOT of things but made us think back to 2009 when the Balmain and Michael Jackson military style jackets were the IT things to wear. So we wondered, is Bachmann reviving...

Rachel Zoe 2012 Resort Collection
Rachel Zoe‘s 2012 Resort collection is everything we’d expect from the celebrity stylist. Her signature bohemian-chic 70′s-inspired style is stamped all over this collection. Looks consist of sharply tailored menswear-style suits in unexpected colors (purple!), long lounge-y cardigans, breezy organza party and maxi dresses, plus other separates including strong shoulder blazers, blouses, safari shorts and ruffled skirts. This is Zoe’s second line since launching her collection in January.

My Style: Butterfly Sunday (Zara kimono blazer and pegged pants + Abaco Paris bag)
Happy Easter lovelies! It was such a beautiful day today and the perfect day to wear this kimono blazer that I had been stalking all over Manhattan! I literally called all but one Zara store before I found it, and right away hopped on the train to go pick it up. I love it so much, I almost bought two of them! You know, just in case something happens to the first one. I love butterflies – I have tons of butterfly jewelry and a few other things – so this kimono was meant to be in my closet. Enjoy!

Celebrating Michael Jackson – the music, humanitarian and fashion icon
The loss of Michael Jackson shook the world on Thursday. Michael Jackson the entertainer not only impacted the music world in tremendous ways, he was also a global humanitarian, lending his support to 39 charity organizations either with monetary donations through project sponsorships. He received recognition in the 2000 edition of the Guiness Book Of World Records for breaking the world record for the “Most Charities Supported By a Pop Star”. Despite media allegations, Michael Jackson loved all children, and took time out while touring to secret visting sick children and even had...

Celebrity Chic on the Cheap: These Leggings Are Made for Partying And That’s Just What They’ll Do.
[Every week College Candy's style guru Jill takes a celebrity look and breaks it down for you. What does that mean? It means that while the celebrities are spending $5,000 on an ensemble, you don’t have to. All you have to do is click on the goods and - boom - you can buy the entire ensemble. Yes, we know; there is a spot for her in heaven.]
The fact that people are saying Jessica Simpson is FAT is baffling to me. She was way too thin before and she is still thin now. The media obsession with calling her fat is only perpetuating a society of anorexics and girls ripping other girls apart. I...
