Fashion hits and misses at the 2012 Costume Institute Gala opening of “Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations” at the Met
Dubbed the “Fashion Oscars,” celebrities and designers strutted their stuff last night at the 2012 Costume Institute Gala. Held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, this year’s Costume Institute Benefit celebrated Elsa Schiaparelli and Miuccia Prada and the opening of the “Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations” exhibition in New York. Azealia Banks, who attended with and was dressed by Alexander Wang, was the performer for the night. And of course, the fashion was out in full force and as always, we saw major hits and misses.

Haute trend to try: Wedge sneakers
When we spotted some of our favorite fashion-forward icons are rocking the same trend, we took notice! Beyonce, Alessandra Ambrosio, Alicia Keys and Tracee Ellis Ross have all been spotted wearing Isabel Marant’s Wedge Sneaker. And occasionally, we too like to trade in our five-inch platform pumps for a pair of chic sneakers. We love that the high-top wedge sneakers trend features a concealed heel, so we can keep the extra height (yet walk a little more comfortably).
The Isabel Marant‘s are pretty much sold out everywhere but we’ve been on a mission to find alternative versions...

It’s the battle of the Lanvin gowns!
The world was wowed when Beyonce cupped her baby bump, dressed in this silk-crepe Lanvin asymmetrical gown at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards. The draped red gown was a perfectly flattering couture gown for the mommy-to-be. Beyonce paired the dress with dangly diamond earrings, a diamond and emerald cuff and ring and a side ponytail.
Monica also recently wore the same gorgeous gown, in winter white. She rocked the Lanvin dress at a taping of “A Very BET Christmas,” paired with diamond stud earrings and a gold collar necklace while wearing...

Get her haute look: Beyonce rocks Alexander McQueen & Alain Quilici in New York City
Beyonce isn’t letting her pregnancy slow her down one bit. Or alter her love of super high heels. The “Party” singer was spotted in New York yesterday in a casual-chic fall look that was less-maternity; more everyday woman. She paired a red padded-shoulder jacket with a white top and an Alexander McQueen Leopard Skull Scarf, which she wore with blue maternity jeans. Her choice of footwear was really the star of the show though – she rocked the 5″ Alain Quilici Payson Skate Lace-up Booties. With a pair of dark, cat-eye sunglasses, she looked camera-ready, as always.

Who rocked it hotter: Leighton Meester or Beyonce in Michael Kors’ Fall 2011 Leather-Bodice Gown
Singer/actress Beyonce may be several months pregnant but she’s still serving up fierce competition to her fellow fashionistas. She attended the Tory Burch Madison Avenue flagship store opening on Sept. 13 in New York City wearing a black Michael Kors pre-Fall 2011 leather-Bodice Gown with mid-waist cutouts and a full skirt. Naturally, her hair was worn in long, wavy blonde curls, and she accessorized her look with Lorraine Schwartz earrings and a black Alexander McQueen clutch.

Beyonce draped in an orange Lanvin dress, diamonds and emeralds on the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards’ white carpet showing off her baby bump – yes, she’s pregnant!
At MTV‘s annual Video Music Awards, we expect Lady Gaga’s outfits to upstage everyone and everything at the show. But not this year. R&B queen Beyonce stole the show walking down the white ‘carpet’ when she held her protruding baby bump letting us all in on a little secret – she and Jay-Z are pregnant! Let this mark the start of many months of speculating what she’ll be wearing to flatter her bump, what gender the baby will be, which designer duds we’ll expect to see on little Jay-Z or Beyonce Jr. (Dereon and Rocawear, naturally), and tons and tons...

Diamond Candles put a ring IN it
We’re all too familiar with Beyonce‘s song “Put A Ring On It” – now there’s a fun new brand that puts a ring IN it. Diamond Candles are just that – a line of all-natural, eco-friendly soy candles with a surprise ring inside each candle, valued at $10, $100, $1,000, or $5,000. It’s like a modern day box of Crackerjacks, except, of course you can’t eat the contents. But you’ll almost want to with yummy scents like ‘Carnival Candy‘, ‘Cupcake‘, ‘Stawberry Bliss‘ and ‘White Chocolate‘. There’s...

Who rocked it hotter? Naomi Campbell vs. Beyonce in a Gucci Spring/Summer 2011 dress
It’s the battle of the magazine covers! Beyonce posed for her L’Officiel Paris cover back in March wearing this stunning gold Gucci dress (from the Spring/Summer 2011 collection). The African-style beaded and feather-covered dress features strategically-placed cutouts. Beyonce wore it paired with her hair in a braided updo and her nails painted dark. Stunning supermodel Naomi Campbell also rocked the dress, but for the June 2011 cover of Vogue Japan. She wore it with her standard straight hairdo and accessorized with a few bangles.

Five reasons we love: Gwyneth Paltrow
We heart Gwyneth Paltrow. Aside from the fact that we think she’s a gorgeous gal, a brilliant actress and has enviable hair, here are the top five reasons we love this all-around cool girl:
1. She rocked the stage at the Grammys in 6″ Christian Louboutin Futura Peep Toe Ankle Booties and stole the show while performing with Cee Lo (which was hard since he was dressed like a peacock)
2. She’s versatile (remember Shallow Hal?)
3. She’s besties with hip-hop’s royal couple – Jay-Z and Beyonce
4. She knows all of the lyrics to NWA‘s ’Straight Outta Compton‘....
