Whether you loved or hated his debut show at Paris Fashion Week, Kanye West is back for a second go. His PR firm, the Karla Otto agency, confirmed that Mr. West will show on March 6 at 9.30 p.m., during PFW, at a venue yet to be announced. Though details are fuzzy, we do know you can expect to see some crepe chiffon. (Fashionista)

Plus size blogger Marie Denee strikes back at Chanel head Karl Lagerfeld, after he referred to singer Adele as being “a little fat”. Denee responds: “He’s no stranger to disdain and contempt for plus size women” and, “By saying that she can sing but she’s fat minimizes who this woman is. She is so much more than just her weight.” (Metro)

Kylie Bisutti said it once was her biggest dream to become a Victoria’s Secret model. But she has since quit because it clashes with her Christian beliefs. She said: “My body should only be for my husband and it’s just a sacred thing. I didn’t really want to be that kind of role model for younger girls because I had a lot of younger Christian girls who were looking up to me and then thinking that it was okay for them to walk around and show their bodies in lingerie to guys.” (Vogue UK)

Kmart Fashion collabs with Sophomore NYC to create limited edition ‘#FashionWeekProblems’ T-shirt

Last week I attended a special event hosted by Kmart Fashion & Sophomore NYC, to launch their limited-edition #FashionWeekProblems T-shirt. Designed by Sophomore creative director Chrissie Miller, the shirt features a red pump with a broken heel, and the #FashionWeekProblems Twitter hashtag. Miller said: “The t-shirt design came about from this idea of #FashionWeekProblems. Who hasn’t had a major shoe emergency on their way to a show or party? A broken heel is every girl’s nightmare!” She commented on her collaboration with Kmart, as well: “Working with Kmart just made sense. I’ve been a fan of the store since I was a little girl growing up in NYC. It’s such a heritage brand and still a place I go to to find classic basics which I can build into my everyday look.”

At the event, bloggers and editors were invited to stock up on beauty and fashion essentials from Kmart’s Concierge, to help us prevent any #FashionWeekProblems of our own! There was everything from face wipes, hand sanitizer, stockings, lip balm, mascara and Advil. And of course, a Kmart Fashion canvas tote bag and the #FashionWeekProblems tee.

Riccardo Tisci revealed what it was like working with Madonna on creating her Super Bowl performance costumes. He said: “Following my collaboration with Madonna on her last tour three years ago, it is a great honor for me to be a part of yet another historical and iconic moment. One to watch: Kobi Levi – designer of innovative and inspired footwear

The fashion industry is fickle and fast-moving, so innovation is required in order to succeed. And when it comes to innovation, there’s one designer who immediately comes to mind – Kobi Levi. His artistic, handmade footwear designs mimic everyday items, foods, animals, cartoon characters and even celebrities!

Levi studied at Bezalel Academy of Art & Design in Jerusalem, graduating in 2001 with specialties in footwear design and development. While he works as a designer for Shoofra, an Israeli shoe store chain, he also creates his over-the-top shoes, as a labor of love, one-by-one in his studio, and all by hand. Levi says he gets inspiration from any and everything. Some of his previous designs have been inspired by things and people like chewing gum, slingshots, bananas, toucans, Olive Oyl, slides and even Madonna! He also travels to China for further inspiration. One of his latest designs, “Contemporary Chinese,” was inspired by his travels to Shanghai and Guangzhou, and features a fire dragon silhouette and stiletto heels reminiscent of chopsticks.

Levi calls his shoes “wearable sculptures”, and they are the ultimate in fantasy footwear. He insists that each pair is completely wearable, as he creates special tools to make each one, and takes his time making only one or two pairs of each style. Even Lady Gaga, the master of fantastical costumes, wore a pair of Kobi Levi’s “Double Boots” in her “Born this Way” video! The shoes obviously perform well, if Lady Gaga could dance around in them! Levi sets the bar high for footwear designers who want to create unique, one-of-a-kind pieces, and without sacrificing quality, wearability and performance. We can’t wait to see the next slew of designs he comes up with. With his creatively savvy mind and raw talent, his innovative thinking is sure to be boundless.

Nicole Scherzinger is the new face of London Fog’s Spring 2012 ad campaign

London Fog, known for its classic khaki trench coats, has been targeting a younger, hipper audience. Last year they cast Eva Longoria and ex-usband Tony Parker as the faces of their ad campaign. This year the new face is The Pussycat Dolls front woman, Nicole Scherzinger. The Spring 2012 ad campaign, shot in Los Angeles, features Nicole wearing a trio of London Fog coats, and not much else. Nicole recently got axed from “The X Factor“, so it’s great to see she’s got other projects lined up.

I love makeup brushes! So much so that I buy brush rolls, brush sets and loose brushes all the time. Recently, I received the Trish McEvoy #62 Fan Brush, so I visited my local Trish McEvoy counter to learn the best way to use it, and as it turns out, the brush is really versatile! I have been using my Trish McEvoy #62 Fan Brush with loose powder to achieve a flawless matte finish on my face. When applying your makeup, you can use it to apply a light dusting of finishing powder. Being that the fan brush is flat, you are able to apply your powder like a thin veil to complete your look.

It’s also a great brush to remove fallout from eye makeup. When doing up your eyes, apply some darker shadow in the outer corner, then use your fan brush to lightly sweep and blend the shadow. If you are going out at night and want to apply some shimmer or pigment, the fan brush is perfect to use since you can apply a light dusting without looking overly made up.

Haute shoe news: Rachel Roy launching designer shoe collection; Sam Edelman x American Eagle’s cheap & chic shoes;

This August, Rachel Roy’s new designer shoe collection will hit stores, and the ‘strong and sexy’ line, which will range in price from $200 to $600, will include 30 styles including flats, pumps, men’s-inspired oxford shoes with heel, booties and boots. Inspired by Manolo Blahnik (her footwear mentor), Roy’s line is “classic with a twist” and mixes materials and fabrications like napa leather, box leather, kidskin suede, calf, wool, watersnake, pony hair, glitter, neon, animal prints, polka dots and gingham. The designer says: “Here’s the thing about me and shoes – I really feel like it’s the one item that, no matter how much you make, it is worth saving your pennies for.” (WWD)

Sam Edelman has collaborated with American Eagle on a line of cheap & chic shoes. The collection features Edelman signature styles, but at a more cost-effective price: from $39.50 to $59.50. Talk show hostess Wendy Williams announced she’s unveiling her new shoe collection, Adorn, in collaboration with Ashley Taylor & Co. and ISO New York. I try to avoid impulse shopping by going into a store already knowing what I want/need to buy, or waiting a few days to decide if I truly want/need it. And when I can’t stop obsessing over something in my head, it becomes a must-have. Such was the case with this striped J. Crew shirt and this neon/fluoro/hot pink Celine Leather Luggage Tote. I first saw the bag online on Savannah Brinson (Lebron’s fiancee). I own an olive green/black version of the bag and love it, and pink is my favorite color so naturally I had to have it, and finally managed to track one down. The color is several shades brighter than what you see in these photos (so much so that a guy in Starbucks commented, incredulously: “That is the brightest bag I have ever seen!” Then he instructed his young son to look at it too, for further affirmation.) LOL!

Anyways, I also came across this striped blouse in J. Crew (which I am newly obsessed with, thanks to Jenna Lyons‘ creative direction). I love that the blouse is seasonless – it can be rocked easily in winter or spring – and pairs nicely with pretty much anything, especially my pops of pink.
