Foley + Corinna’s next fashionably functional ‘It’ bag: the Mega Moto Bag

One of the most fashionably functional bags we’ve ever come across is the Foley + Corinna City Tote. But lo and behold, lightning has struck twice and the duo behind the brand has created yet another ‘It’ bag that we’ll be singing the praises of for years to come. The Foley + Corinna Mega Moto Bag
is one helluva haute hobo. Your usual hobo silhouette gets a makeover with a foldover-style top. It’s a roomy (19″ x 24″) pebbled leather bag featuring two vertical front zips with tassel pulls and buckled side straps so you can expand the bag. There’s topstitching throughout and 20″ long single strap accented with grommet detail. The main compartment has a magnetic-snap closure and features 2 large zip pockets inside.
This bag is boho-chic at its best.

Vince Camuto ‘Ruffles’ Shopper
April 26, 2010 by Ehmonie Hainey · 2 Comments
A few months ago Handbag du Jour reported that Vince Camuto was planning to launch a handbag line and we just discovered one on Nordstrom.com. It seems to have been inspired by his Vince Camuto Marcia ruffled shoe that we so love (and have been shoe stalking for months) with two flowery, ruffled columns down the front of the bag. Made of smooth, lightly textured leather, the Vince Camuto ‘Ruffles’ Shopper
is soft and slouchy – just how we like our handbags. The ruffles provide a nice contrast to the neutral tone, and the bag is one you should definitely grab for spring!

Diane von Furstenberg Marisa Bag

The safari trend is what’s haute for spring and what better way to jump on the look than with an on-trend bag? The Diane von Furstenberg Marisa Bag is the perfect statement bag that delivers without being too in-your-face. Made of a glazed, snake-embossed leather, the khaki/brown/black color combo incorporates safari-tones in a chic, neutral tote. This DvF bag features fold details at the front and back which gives it a softer look than many exotic-style snakeskin bags. The folds serve double duty - they add dimension to the bag and also hide two zip pockets at the front folds. Also features double handles, a magnetic-tab top closure, and a lined interior with a zip pocket, 2 patch pockets and pen slot.
Chanel to raise prices on its Classic handbags

On my ‘gift-to-self’ list this year is a Chanel Classic Flap bag. Every woman should have one – it’s a true classic! The pairing of the quilted leather and that silver Bijoux chain equals a vintage look with modern style. Every fashionista worth their salt has one (or is planning to purchase soon). But if you’re thinking about getting one, take note – prices are going up! Reportedly, prices will increase by $50 to $100 on classic styles including the Classic 2.55 Caviar Leather Flap bag which is said to go from $2,650 to $2,995. Ouch! But looking fashionable is priceless and so is the wear you will get out of this must-have bag, so if you can afford one, get your name on the lengthy Chanel waiting list now! I certainly plan to!
On the fringe: the ‘Saloon’ fringe hobo by Elle Nicole

You may have tried to embrace the fringe trend but found it to look a little more frumpy than fashionable. Fringe bags can easily go the way of forest creature. But among the losers, there’s a winner on the fringe.
Danielle Nicole designs fashionable, supple leather bags and her newest one is fashionably fringe-y. The ‘Saloon‘ is a sleek hobo from her lower-priced line, Elle Nicole. The bag features a soft leather body with fringe exterior, hanging from the strap to the bottom. Pulled taut, rather than hanging loose, this fringe stays in line while still giving the bag that oh-so-boho vibe. And the vibrant orchid (purple) hue gives it a glam factor that other fringe bags just can’t match.

Donna Karan element silver-tone clutch

Whether or not the stud trend is still going strong or is O-V-E-R is yet to be determined, but there’s one stud bag that for us, will never get old. The Donna Karan Element silver-tone clutch is simply one giant pyramid stud in the form of a clutch, and we couldn’t love it more. Made of metal, the silver tone has an antiqued look, yet remains polished. It’s just the right amount of edge for a Rihanna type, but it’s still a classy piece to hang on the arms of even the most conservative of women. Just how Donna Karan would want it. The bag comes with a gold chain shoulder strap, square structured opening with top clasp and black lining.
Originally priced at $1,530 - now $765 at the Outnet. Click here to buy!

The best gift to give is not necessarily something new, but something old made new. Vintage, that is. Portero offers a great selection of authentic, vintage luxury goods, like this Chanel Limited Edition Twinny Metallic Gold Leather Handbags ($1,995). Alison Wood brilliantly blends her hometown Midwestern spirit, New York cool and Italian sensibility into her designs. The Alison Wood Bowery Bucket Hobo is a perfect example. Made of Italian lambskin leather, this bag comes in the perfect shade - a lovely distressed leather that gives of hues of black, brown and gray. Multiple horizontal zippers add just the right amount of detail and downtown cool to this otherwise simple silhouette. Basic with a touch of flair.

Fendi Zucca zebra-print tote
November 11, 2009 by Ehmonie Hainey · Leave a Comment
As the owner of multiple Fendi bags throughout my handbag life, I have a love/hate relationship with the brand. I love them for their classic yet trendy designs and I also hate them for their many recent design missteps. Honestly, sometimes they take things way too far. But through the good and bad, my favorite Fendi bags have always been the ones that combine the classic zucca pattern with leather trim. With this duo, you can’t go worng! So the Fendi Zucca zebra-print tote gets a ‘love’ stamp of approval. Made of multicolored zucca canvas and patent leather, this tote bag has an edgy contrast black lamé zebra-print overlaid on top. It’s gorgeous and although zebra prints can usually easily go the way of tacky, Fendi gets this one right.
