Pump your fists to this: Steve Madden’s ‘Snookie’ shoe

Because we all just can’t get enough of Jersey Shore, fashion based around the show was bound to appear. First it was J-Woww’s clothing line; now Steve Madden has designed the ‘Snookie’ shoe, which couldn’t be more ‘Jersey’. The shoe, which could easily be worn by Snooki or J-Woww or any other girl on the shore, consists of a glitter upper, a 5.5 inch stiletto heel with a 1.25 inch platform and an open toe. And it’s exactly what we would expect a shoe named after Snooki to look like.

Haute on your feet: Vivienne Westwood Anglomania + Lady Dragon Heart II

We haven’t worn plastic shoes since jellies first came out in the 80’s. Now that we’ve given away our age, let’s move on to the present, when plastic shoes have been revamped from cheapie woven flats to footwear that is much more fabulous. We’re talking about Melissa Shoes, the Brazilian-made line of sculpturally luxe fantastic plastic shoes. Yes, we said luxe PLASTIC shoes. Her collaboration with Vivienne Westwood was amazing, and made us want for plastic shoes like we never could imagine. The Vivienne Westwood Anglomania + Lady Dragon Heart II is one of our faves. Haute find: Michael Antonio ‘Karina’ Open-Toe Pump

It’s rare to find a pair of heels over 3 inches that were made for real women’s feet (not Barbie dolls), and are actually comfortable to walk around in. Especially, non-leather shoes. I picked up a pair of 4″ Michael Antonio peep-toes this weekend and was surprised that they looked great, felt great, were easy to walk in and were all-around stunners. And I’m in good company - Beyonce is a fan of Michael Antonio shoes, and the brand has also been featured on all sorts of fashion runways.

So the natural next step for the fashion writer in me was to find more, and boy did I! Shoe craving: Nine West “Elkie”

A trip to DSW always equals serious shoe cravings. The trouble is everything’s already been well picked over. But thank goodness there’s online shopping! What we’re coveting right now is the Nine West Elkie – a seriously sharp and sexy platform sandal. We first spied it at DSW but the range of sizes was pretty sad. Thankfully, Zappos.com has a bunch of them, in just about every color combo! We’ve always loved Nine West’s ability to pair sleek design with comfort and the Elkie is the epitome of both. This leather sandal features crisscrossed straps with piping detail, an open toe and a 4 1/4″ covered heel with a 1/2″ hidden platform. It’s nothing short of fabulous, but we wouldn’t expect anything but fabulosity in footwear from Nine West!

H Williams’ python spring shoes now available at Saks

We recently stumbled upon some smokin’ hot shoes while perusing a bridal magazine. A preliminary search came up with a Facebook fan page but nowhere to buy! So we were thrilled to discover that the smokin’ hot footwear – H Williams by designer Heather Williams – was just picked up by Saks Fifth Avenue! Starting February 8, the H Williams “Rueda” zippered bootie in tan and blue python, ($895), along with the “Ruby” zippered cage flat in embossed rose python, ($475), will be available for purchase in the Saks 10022-SHOE department. If you can’t get to New York, no worries - the H Williams Spring 2010 collection will also be available at specialty retailers including Madison in Los Angeles and IN Step at the Wynn Las Vegas.

H Williams’ Spring 2010 collection was inspired by the designer’s love for New York City. The Rueda and Ruby were inspired by the Brooklyn Bridge’s steel wires and the architectural structure of New York’s bridges, skyscrapers and scaffolding was incorporated into all of her spring footwear line.
