Diane von Furstenberg Marisa Bag
March 8, 2010 by Ehmonie Hainey · 1 Comment
The safari trend is what’s haute for spring and what better way to jump on the look than with an on-trend bag? The Diane von Furstenberg Marisa Bag is the perfect statement bag that delivers without being too in-your-face. Made of a glazed, snake-embossed leather, the khaki/brown/black color combo incorporates safari-tones in a chic, neutral tote. This DvF bag features fold details at the front and back which gives it a softer look than many exotic-style snakeskin bags. The folds serve double duty - they add dimension to the bag and also hide two zip pockets at the front folds. Also features double handles, a magnetic-tab top closure, and a lined interior with a zip pocket, 2 patch pockets and pen slot.
H Williams’ python spring shoes now available at Saks
February 10, 2010 by Ehmonie Hainey · 2 Comments
We recently stumbled upon some smokin’ hot shoes while perusing a bridal magazine. A preliminary search came up with a Facebook fan page but nowhere to buy! So we were thrilled to discover that the smokin’ hot footwear – H Williams by designer Heather Williams – was just picked up by Saks Fifth Avenue! Starting February 8, the H Williams “Rueda” zippered bootie in tan and blue python, ($895), along with the “Ruby” zippered cage flat in embossed rose python, ($475), will be available for purchase in the Saks 10022-SHOE department. If you can’t get to New York, no worries - the H Williams Spring 2010 collection will also be available at specialty retailers including Madison in Los Angeles and IN Step at the Wynn Las Vegas.
H Williams’ Spring 2010 collection was inspired by the designer’s love for New York City. The Rueda and Ruby were inspired by the Brooklyn Bridge’s steel wires and the architectural structure of New York’s bridges, skyscrapers and scaffolding was incorporated into all of her spring footwear line.
Pour La Victoire to launch bridal shoe collection exclusively on Zappos

Just when I thought my search for bridal shoes was over, I found out some news that made me pause. I just discovered French-inspired, Brazilian-crafted footwear brand Pour La Victoire is set to launch its bridal footwear line in March! Imagine the European-styling of a sexy Pour La Victoire shoe combined with the elegance of a beautiful bridal gown and ta-da! – you’ve got a gorgeous collection of fashion-forward wedding footwear.
I checked out the collection and there are some interesting looks, including your typical heels, flats and wedges, embellished with bows, beading, lace, crystals, ruffles and floral details. In total there are twelve bridal styles and I love them all! But one of my favorites is the Divia Wedge in Ivory. At times I prefer wedge shoes over stiletto heels, and the design of these with the side bow detail makes the shoe look elegant and feminine, and not at all clunky (like some wedges can).
There’s no word yet on pricing but it will likely be competitive with other bridal footwear brands, as well as Pour La Victoire’s mainstay footwear line, which ranges at around $200. The collection will be available exclusively on zappos.com.
Which one is your fave?

Check back to see which shoes make the cut for my big day!
Roberto Cavalli Spider-web suede sandals
February 5, 2010 by Ehmonie Hainey · Leave a Comment
The last thing on Earth that we want to come across is a spider. That said, we’ll take some spider-inspired accessories any day. The Roberto Cavalli Spider-web suede sandals are just the shoes to usher in spring.
The light gray suede is a perfect neutral to pair with slacks, skirts or dresses for the day, and the shoe also doubles as a great pair of heels for night. Pair these Roberto Cavalli’s with jeans and a chic top for a sleek city look. And while cage booties were all the rage last year, the front spider-web-style pattern very well may dominate this year’s footwear. The pattern goes down the front, leading to an ‘almond’ toe. And the shoes aren’t complete without the 4.5″ heel and zip fastening at back.

Bridal beauty pick: Chanel Glossimer Lévres Scintillantes
February 4, 2010 by Ehmonie Hainey · Leave a Comment
Typically a woman who strongly believes ‘less is more’ when it comes to my face, I do want to spice things up for my wedding. However, my day-to-day beauty and makeup regimen consists of little more than facial moisturizer, the occasional bit of bronzer, and my Chanel Glossimer lip gloss. Although I want to ‘do it big’ on my eyes and cheeks for the big day, I’ll keep my lips simple with the low-key Glossimer.
I have been using Glossimer for years, since I first saw it on Jada Pinkett Smith in a fashion and beauty spread in Essence Magazine. And I’ve been hooked ever since. My ’signature’ color is Twinkle, which is a pinkish, peachy color that is about the same tone as NARS’ ‘Orgasm’, but with flecks of gold shimmer that gives my lips a gorgeous sheen. I’ve also tried some similar Glossimer shades like Waterlily, as well as some limited-edition colors. I love that it goes on smooth, thanks to the wand applicator, and its sticky enough that it lasts for a while, but not as sticky as other glosses I’ve tried that make you feel as if you’re wearing three coats of Vasoline on your lips. The colors are more muted on than they appear in the packaging, which is fine because it highlights your skin tone without overdoing it. But there is that ever-present hint of sparkle and shine. And it’s water-resistant, so it doesn’t disappear after you take a sip of drink, or even a bite of food.
Wonder if it withstand our first kiss as husband and wife?

Chanel to raise prices on its Classic handbags
February 3, 2010 by Ehmonie Hainey · 1 Comment
On my ‘gift-to-self’ list this year is a Chanel Classic Flap bag. Every woman should have one – it’s a true classic! The pairing of the quilted leather and that silver Bijoux chain equals a vintage look with modern style. Every fashionista worth their salt has one (or is planning to purchase soon). But if you’re thinking about getting one, take note – prices are going up! Reportedly, prices will increase by $50 to $100 on classic styles including the Classic 2.55 Caviar Leather Flap bag which is said to go from $2,650 to $2,995. Ouch! But looking fashionable is priceless and so is the wear you will get out of this must-have bag, so if you can afford one, get your name on the lengthy Chanel waiting list now! I certainly plan to!

The name says it all. The Kelly Bundy Dress by Wren is the ultimate little black dress that would have made the Bundy family proud. Made of Ponti jersey, this body conscious fitted dress features double straps, a low neck (to show off that décolletage), and a sexy cut-out back. Measures 36″ from shoulder to hem so it’s not too short but a rather Kelly-appropriate length.
Sleazy guy not included.

Ashish ‘Same Old Chic’ sequin top
January 29, 2010 by Ehmonie Hainey · Leave a Comment
Sometimes you turn the pages of your favorite fashion magazine and there it is - the same old chic.
Luckily, Ashish turned this brilliant catchphrase into an even more brilliant top.
Made of 100% silk, this stylish short-sleeved top features black sequins emblazoned across the front, in the form of text which reads ‘Same Old Chic’. A zip fastening goes down the back. It hits just at the hips so your can wear and pair with leggings or a miniskirt. Or however you like.
We just love fashion that tells it like it is.
