Jeffrey Campbell Morrow Bootie in Black vs. Alexander Wang’s buckled leather ankle boots
March 3, 2010 by Ehmonie Hainey · Leave a Comment
How many pairs of Jeffrey Campbell shoes should one girl own? Here’s hoping the answer is ‘as many as possible’, because it seems like we spot a new pair of JC’s covetable shoes on a daily basis! We were bummed that we never got to snag a pair of the Alexander Wang Hanne buckled leather ankle boots but to our suprise, Jeffrey Campbell designed a similar version (which we think looks a bit better, and naturally is more affordable). The Jeffrey Campbell Morrow Bootie in Black is a taller, chunkier version of Wang’s boot with the same three rows of buckled straps, but with a more rounded toe - perfect for us girls without model-thin feet. As the proud owner of several pairs of Jeffrey Campbell shoes, we can vouch for the high-quality of the leather, comfort and construction. And the price cannot be beat - $195 for Campbell’s version, vs. $690 for Wang’s. Which would YOU buy?
Haute to shop: Nicole Richie’s House of Harlow 1960 footwear collection
March 3, 2010 by Ehmonie Hainey · Leave a Comment
While we refuse to ever wear a pair of Jessica Simpson’s shoes (we don’t care how darn cute they are - they’re still ’made’ by Jessica Simpson!) we’ll certainly step into some of Nicole Richie’s shoes.
Her jewelry line, House of Harlow 1960, had us swooning when it first debuted. Now, under the same label is a line of shoes set to debut this spring. If you love Richie’s boho-glam style, you’ll love this collection. The line has the same aesthetic as the jewelry line - an artsy, bohemian feel with geometric, tribal and art-deco detailing on all of the looks. Highlights from the line include chunky fish-scale peep-toe platforms, beaded moccasins, towering platform shoes with whipstitched, tribal detail on the heels, Navajo-inspired flats and stiletto sandals, and flat laser cutout booties. All the pieces would look great with any spring look.
What’s your take? Will you be buying House of Harlow 1960 footwear?

H Williams’ python spring shoes now available at Saks
February 10, 2010 by Ehmonie Hainey · 2 Comments
We recently stumbled upon some smokin’ hot shoes while perusing a bridal magazine. A preliminary search came up with a Facebook fan page but nowhere to buy! So we were thrilled to discover that the smokin’ hot footwear – H Williams by designer Heather Williams – was just picked up by Saks Fifth Avenue! Starting February 8, the H Williams “Rueda” zippered bootie in tan and blue python, ($895), along with the “Ruby” zippered cage flat in embossed rose python, ($475), will be available for purchase in the Saks 10022-SHOE department. If you can’t get to New York, no worries - the H Williams Spring 2010 collection will also be available at specialty retailers including Madison in Los Angeles and IN Step at the Wynn Las Vegas.
H Williams’ Spring 2010 collection was inspired by the designer’s love for New York City. The Rueda and Ruby were inspired by the Brooklyn Bridge’s steel wires and the architectural structure of New York’s bridges, skyscrapers and scaffolding was incorporated into all of her spring footwear line.
Pour La Victoire to launch bridal shoe collection exclusively on Zappos
February 9, 2010 by Ehmonie Hainey · 1 Comment
Just when I thought my search for bridal shoes was over, I found out some news that made me pause. I just discovered French-inspired, Brazilian-crafted footwear brand Pour La Victoire is set to launch its bridal footwear line in March! Imagine the European-styling of a sexy Pour La Victoire shoe combined with the elegance of a beautiful bridal gown and ta-da! – you’ve got a gorgeous collection of fashion-forward wedding footwear.
I checked out the collection and there are some interesting looks, including your typical heels, flats and wedges, embellished with bows, beading, lace, crystals, ruffles and floral details. In total there are twelve bridal styles and I love them all! But one of my favorites is the Divia Wedge in Ivory. At times I prefer wedge shoes over stiletto heels, and the design of these with the side bow detail makes the shoe look elegant and feminine, and not at all clunky (like some wedges can).
There’s no word yet on pricing but it will likely be competitive with other bridal footwear brands, as well as Pour La Victoire’s mainstay footwear line, which ranges at around $200. The collection will be available exclusively on zappos.com.
Which one is your fave?

Check back to see which shoes make the cut for my big day!
Hey there little stud: the Be & D Memphis Stud Stirrup boots
January 26, 2010 by Ehmonie Hainey · 4 Comments
In a sea of knee-high riding boots, over-the-knee boots, and tall Wellies, the ankle boot seems to have gotten lost in the shuffle. Thankfully, Be & D came to the rescue with a darling mini riding boot that’s quite the stud.
The BE & D Memphis Stud Harness Boots combine the equestrian-inspired riding boot in a petite size with the brilliance of Be & D’s design. The brand that became famous for their super-studded Garbo bags has reached into its stud stash to drizzle a little onto their boots. These pull-on boots are made of chocolate (and black) pebbled leather, have a slouchy shaft and a sprinkle of nickel pyramid studs provides a punk appeal. The 1″ stacked heel gives just enough height with an ultra-glam metallic leather sole.

Spring shoes and accessories at Nine West
January 25, 2010 by Ehmonie Hainey · 1 Comment
I recently had the chance to get up close and personal with Nine West, to take a first look at the Spring 2010 shoes and accessories collection and chat with Creative Director, Fred Allard. I’ve been a huge fan of Nine West for as long as I can remember - the on-trend yet classic designs, the fabulous fit, and the affordable prices. There are some Nine West shoes in my closet which I’ve had for almost 15 years now and they’re still looking and feeling pretty good! Nine West creates shoes that are truly long-lasting, in terms of both the construction and durability and the classic colors and designs that never go out of style. And the trend continues for Spring ‘10. The beauty of Nine West is that each of its collections offer something for every woman - all ages, every foot type, every shoe style, etc.

The Spring collection consists of a wide array of styles, from heels to flats, wedges to stilettos, lace-ups to strappy sandals. There are bows for the girly girl, studs for the edgy chick, shoes for work, shoes for play and sandals for lounging. The collection also includes a wide range of handbags, both leather and PVC. Bag styles range from feminine ruffle chain bags to pastel and metallic hobos, as well as suede and leather totes.

Bridal find: Badgley Mischka Women’s Randee T-Strap Sandal
January 21, 2010 by Ehmonie Hainey · 3 Comments
On your wedding day, doesn’t the perfect gown deserve the perfect shoe? Unfortunately, most bridal shoes are dyeable versions that make your day less wedding, more prom. Luckily, designers Badgley Mischka realized the lack of bridal shoe options and came up with some beautiful selections to blissfully grace my soon-to-be-betrothed feet. I can’t stop eyeing the Badgley Mischka Women’s Randee T-Strap Sandal - in multiple colors so it CAN be worn again. The pink is lovely and the gold satin is divine, but the ivory is a perfect match for my two (yes two!) wedding gowns. Made of silk and satin, the Randee is an elegant choice for that once-in-a-lifetime event. The 4 1/2″ heel and gorgeous floral ruffle down the front reads ‘high-fashion’, while the recessed platform and leather sole add a bit of much-needed comfort and balance. A delicate T-strap completes the look. And at $200, they’re well worth the wear!
Get the look: Leighton Meester’s Proenza Schouler platform heels
December 16, 2009 by Ehmonie Hainey · Leave a Comment
Leighton Meester is no Blair Waldorf! The Gossip Girl star’s personal style is quite different from her character on the show, where she dresses in frilly frocks and accessorizes with headbands and high heels. It looks like high heels are the only thing that transfers over to her real-life wardrobe. She donned an interesting black leather dress and Proenza Schouler platforms to Z100’s Jingle Ball 2009 presented by H&M at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Can’t say we’re loving the dress, but the heels - Blair would approve.
We didn’t find the exact match but we located a very similar pair of the Proenza Schouler platform heels on Zappos. The shoes go for $699 and feature a two-tone patent leather upper with a gold metallic almond shaped toe. These sling-backs have a 4 1/2″ heel with a two-tiered 3/4″ platform and are lined in leather. Do you love?

My Most Uncomfortable Experience
November 16, 2009 by Ehmonie Hainey · 1 Comment
Do you ever wish you could leave your house barefoot? We do. That’s because when it comes to uncomfortable experiences, it typically involves our feet and some painful footwear. Stilettos, of course, but other shoes, boots, even sneakers are included. The most uncomfortable moment? It happened during this past New York fashion week. Picture this: standing in line at Christian Siriano for an hour wearing my brand new Vince Camuto Della Peep-Toe Booties. Oh, the agony! But it’s one of the sacrifices we must make for fashion, right? After that grueling hour with my feet perched like a Barbie doll, I gave up the fight and put on my backups, my Tory Burch Leather Logo Reva Flats
. After the show, I ran into Kelly Rowland who complimented me on my shoes. Now if a music superstar could appreciate some great flats, why couldn’t I?
Tell us about your most uncomfortable experience, footwear-related or otherwise!
