My style: Stylin’ with the Citizen Eco-Drive Silhouette Crystal Bangle watch – perfect for Valentine’s Day gifts!

With Valentine’s Day around the corner, I’m coming across tons of products to give and get. The fine folks at Citizen sent over this beautiful Ladies’ Citizen Eco-Drive Silhouette Crystal Bangle watch and if I didn’t already have one (thanks, Citizen), I’d definitely ask for it as a Valentine’s Day gift. I love that it’s delicate and pretty and very lightweight....

My style: Pops of pink (J. Crew striped popover blouse + Hudson jeans + Celine Leather Luggage Tote in neon pink)

I try to avoid impulse shopping by going into a store already knowing what I want/need to buy, or waiting a few days to decide if I truly want/need it. And when I can’t stop obsessing over something in my head, it becomes a must-have. Such was the case with this striped J. Crew shirt and this neon/fluoro/hot pink Celine Leather Luggage Tote. I first saw the bag online on Savannah Brinson (Lebron’s...

My style: Going for the gold (Yellow cardigan + Zara metallic jeans + Cleobella ‘Kaya’ Bucket bag + Charles David suede platform pumps)

There are those fashion essentials you need, and there are those you simply want. And there are those that fit into both categories. I never in my life thought I’d need or want metallic gold jeans, yet they appeared on Zara.com a few months ago and suddenly I both wanted and needed them badly. Once they arrived, I wondered, “What does one wear with gold jeans?” Well, here’s...

My Style: Test-driving the Knomo ‘Ravello’ laptop bag

As a writer/editor, I need my tech tools with me at all times – like my laptop for writing and editing, my iPhone for Tweeting and Facebooking, and my camera for street style and fashion snaps and cords to connect them all. So despite always carrying around large handbags, I need a separate one for tech stuff. Despite the many options, most tech bags just aren’t that cute. Sure they get...

My Style: Splurge vs. Steal at searsStyle

Though I indulge in the occasional fashion splurge, I much prefer a good steal. So when I received a $75 gift card to shop and review the searsStyle collections as part of the Glam Trendsetter Program, I was all in! I went to check out their various collections – UK Style by French Connection, Kardashian Kollection, Apostrophe, Bongo – in-store and found a good mix of trendy and classic...

My Style: Baltimore Harbor (Zara blazer + BB Dakota top +DvF pants + Celine Luggage Tote)

Just a few weeks ago, the weather was just perfect – sunny and balmy outside. It certainly didn’t feel like Fall or Winter. I took these pics while visiting Baltimore Harbor on a gorgeous day, filled with strolling by the water and eating tons of crabs. Yum. A blazer is my usual go-to piece for between-seasons weather – you know, when a coat is too much but you still need a light...

My Style: Birds & Sparkles (Zara top & crystal platforms + Missoni for Target skirt)

My accessory addiction knows no bounds, so no matter what store I’m in, I hit up the accessories section first. On a recent shopping trip to Zara I spied these crystal-studded platform slingbacks (that the photos do NO justice – they’re so much more beautiful in person) and I just had to have them. Of course there was only one pair left in my size so that was my sign! There was no...

My Style: Early Thanksgiving (H&M top + ASOS skirt + kate spade bag + Charles David platform pumps)

I spent the weekend before last with my family, in-laws and family friends celebrating Thanksgiving – two weeks early! Typically my Thanksgiving look is all about comfort but since this was a special occasion with guests aside from my family, I dressed up – just a bit. This Aztec-patterned Skater Skirt is from ASOS, and I paired it with a denim shirt from H&M (though I have my eye on...

My Style: What to wear to a baby shower (Tucker for Target dress + Zara sandals + Kooba bag)

Typically baby shower attire consists of little more than jeans and a shirt for most, but when the mommy-to-be is a fashionista, you know you have to step your game up. I recently attended my friend Adrienne’s baby shower last week and I knew that she and my other stylish friend Carmen would look uber-fab, so I decided to forgo my typical weekend top and jeans routine. I bought this Tucker dress...

My Style: Hudson Jeans & What’s Haute support Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

When Hudson Jeans reached out and asked if What’s Haute would help spread the word about their breast cancer awareness initiative, I jumped at the chance. I have family members and close friends that have been directly affected by the disease, so supporting breast cancer research and awareness and helping to find a cure has long been a personal cause of mine. During the month of October, Hudson...

My Style: Orange Pop (Hawke & Co. trench + UK Style by French Connection top + J. Crew pants)

Gloomy days call for a pop of color, don’tcha think? In college, I used to be that girl that would always wear all black. Not sure what I had against color, since my high school wardrobe was PRETTY COLORFUL. Thank goodness there are few photos. But throughout college, I donned all black, pretty much all the time. Black is still the color I fall back on but I see myself opening up to more and...

My Style: Peplum 2011 (Kersh top + Zara jeans & sandals + Jimmy Choo Mahala/Maddy bag)

On one of the perfect, sun-filled days we had at the end of the summer, I pulled out this Kersh printed peplum-style top. Admittedly, I was never really a fan of the style – peplum dresses always conjure up images of awful eighties style to me – particularly the clothes Jackée Harry wore while playing sassy “Sandra Clark” on 227. Not to say that she wasn’t stylish back...

My Style: Lucky Zigzags (Missoni for Target cardigan + Seven7 jeans + Ore 10 bag)

After hearing all of the Missoni for Target online ordering horror stories and tons of tales of canceled orders, I guess I can consider myself lucky. I snagged some items from the pop-up shop in NYC on Fashion’s Night Out, plus I managed to order some more stuff when the website wasn’t crashing. This cardigan was one of my online orders and now that I have it, I wished I had ordered two....

My Style: Jill Scott at Jones Beach (Victoria’s Secret floral sweetheart dress + MRKT cork sandals + Beirn bag)

I received a surprise anniversary gift from my hubby – tickets to see Jill Scott in concert! She’s been my favorite female artist ever since she came out with her first album (and I’m not biased just because she’s a Philly girl like me) – she’s one super talented singer and any chance I can get to see her perform live, I’ll take it! Since it was her ‘Summer...

My Style: Brights and Whites (Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent top + James Jeans)

I have a favorite, secret TJ Maxx store that has THE BEST designer stuff. I’m talking Pucci wallets, Katherine Kwei knot clutch bags, Prada pumps and Fendi bags. These are the just some of the things I’ve bought/seen there. And this Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent batwing-style tunic top. It was between this and an Elizabeth and James blazer (still kicking myself I didn’t get both)...

My Style: White on White (E.vil Ribcage tank + James Jeans + Jimmy Choo bag)

I love the crisp look of white clothing but usually refrain from wearing it because I always get it stained. And today was no different. I spent the day brunching and shopping with my family and thought this was the perfect outfit for both. It wasn’t until later in the day that I realized my red Jimmy Choo Mahala/Maddy bag was leaving its mark on my jeans! Oh well – I still loved this...

My Style: (Black tank + Blue Zara pants + Jeffrey Campbell zebra sandals)

Animal print never gets old with me. The past few seasons have been all about leopard print but I still held tight to my zebra print Jeffrey Campbell shoes. The truth is, they never go out of style. Punctuated by an electric blue snake print heel and trim, these shoes are super haute and super sexy. And the best part is they’re comfy. There’s nothing better than a sexy, comfy heel. If...

My Style: (Covet top + H&M coated jeans + French Connection bead necklace)

I’m typically a matchy-matchy kinda girl – I pick a color scheme and stick with it. But for some reason I was drawn to pairing this chunky pastel beaded necklace with a taupe top. And I like to think it worked. The top is from Canadian label Covet, and is actually made out of soybean. Yes – SOYBEAN. I love that it looks unintentionally ripped – which got some strange looks...

My Style: How to Make a Statement (Necklace)

Lucky Magazine challenged a group of its Alpha Shoppers, including me, to create a piece of statement jewelry using materials found at Michaels. As a former jewelry and handbag designer, and all-around crafty person, I was up for the task. The real challenge was limiting myself to creating only one statement piece! With my $50 gift card in hand, I headed out on a shopping trip to Michaels. It took...

My Style: Philly-bound (Kensie Denim jacket + Vince jeans + Jessica Kagan Cushman clutch)

The perfect day = perfect weather, the perfectly distressed denim jacket, perfect fit pants and the perfect bag. Wouldn’t you agree? We took a road trip to Philly for the day and the weather was sunny and gorgeous, but still cool enough to wear a light jacket. I love distressed denim, especially when you can purchase it that way. I bought this Kensie jacket a while back on Beyond the Rack and...
