Trend to try: Neon accessories
We first saw punches of neon on the runway, and now it has taken over everywhere we look! In the stores and on the streets we see neon, neon and more neon, which makes it hard to resist this haute trend. Want to infuse a little bit of neon into your spring and summer wardrobes? The easiest way to experiment with a new trend, especially one as bold and bright as this one, is with accessories. Check out these four stylish and bright accessories to give your look an instant boost:
La Mer Collections ‘Neon Odyssey’ Watch has neon leather straps that wrap around the wrist several times....

Haute trend to try: Wedge sneakers
When we spotted some of our favorite fashion-forward icons are rocking the same trend, we took notice! Beyonce, Alessandra Ambrosio, Alicia Keys and Tracee Ellis Ross have all been spotted wearing Isabel Marant’s Wedge Sneaker. And occasionally, we too like to trade in our five-inch platform pumps for a pair of chic sneakers. We love that the high-top wedge sneakers trend features a concealed heel, so we can keep the extra height (yet walk a little more comfortably).
The Isabel Marant‘s are pretty much sold out everywhere but we’ve been on a mission to find alternative versions...

How I rocked the shine trend for Spring! Sponsored by Kohl’s
I love to take current trends and mix them up in a way that works in my wardrobe every day! Kohl’s tasked me with creating a look based on this Spring’s ‘Shine’ trend – for under $100. As I shopped the store, I realized this was no easy task – there were tons of options to choose from! After perusing pretty much every rack in the store and passing up a stunning sparkly dress from the Jennifer Lopez Collection, (sadly it was out of the budget), I finally selected some rocker-chic separates from the Rock & Republic and LC Lauren Conrad lines. The key piece I purchased...

Trend to try: Floral print blazers
One trend dominating the 2012 Resort and Spring collections was an abundance of florals. Flower prints bloomed all over the runway and are now spilling over into the stores. One particular look we loved was this Floral Double Breasted Blazer and pants suit from the Céline Resort 2012 collection. But who has $3500 to drop on a blazer? Not us. So naturally, we went on the hunt to find a few fabulously similar options that won’t break the bank but still let you rock the haute floral print trend. You can rock a floral blazer with pretty much anything – floral pants and skirts (as seen...

Haute trend to try: Floral prints
The floral-print trend is in full bloom this spring! (Pun intended). We first caught a glimpse of florals on the spring 2012 runways, and on celebrity It girls over the past few months. Drew Barrymore recently wore a vibrant J.Crew Jules Floral Print Silk Dress on the Tonight Show, paired with delicate Aurelie Bidermann jewelry and chunky suede Brian Atwood shoes. Solange Knowles rocked a blue floral print suit at Diane Von Furstenberg’s Fall 2012 show. She paired it with a contrasting orange and white print top and yellow pointed-toe pumps. Actress Tika Sumpter wowed at the Tracy Reese show...

Fall trend to try: Leather tops & shirts
In this season filled with over-the-top colored denim, maxi skirts, polka dots and colorblock, we’ve been taking notice of a more subtle trend – leather tops and shirts. As seen on the Fall 2011 runways at 3.1 Phillip Lim, Céline, and The Row, leather tops can add another level of sophistication to tailored trousers and skirts, or a bit of edge when paired with jeans or leggings. Though we can’t say they’re highly practical (trust us, you’ll get hot – quickly!), we still love how they look. They’re just as fashionable and versatile as leather jackets so you can...

Street style: Lia looks boho-glam in an Anthropologie dress
Haute Girl: Lia
Where we spotted her: Chelsea
Where she’s from: California
Occupation: Business Development at Glam Media
Style summary: Eclectic
When we spotted Lia, she was busy chatting away on her phone, but we just HAD to interrupt her to learn where she got her fab, airy print caftan dress. We were instantly drawn to her boho-glam, California cool style and knew we had to stop her and snap her right away! She let us know that the sheer, belted dress was from Anthropologie, which she paired with a lacy black slip from Forever 21. Lia accessorized with a convertible black Kooba shoulder...

Black Swan: the movie that re-inspired ballet fashion
The 2010/2011 awards season is over but we can’t help but realize the impact Black Swan had on fashion this year. The Amy Westcott and Rodarte-designed tutus and performance outfits that Oscar winner Natalie Portman wore in the film have inspired a slew of ballerina-style ready-to-wear fashion. The trend goes beyond ballet flats – there’s tulle skirts, pink satin and tulle dresses that would give Portman’s Swan a run for her money, ballerina baubles, and even ballet-inspired beauty products. We’ve rounded up the best in Black Swan-worthy ballerina fashion and beauty products...

Shop (and wear) the Spring colorblock trend with separates from Diane von Furstenberg
The trend of the moment is colorblock, and that includes everything from apparel and jewelry, to handbags and shoes. (And if you’re Nicki Minaj, it includes your hair too). But back on track, colorblocking is all over Spring fashion and you can wear it, right off the runway. Our pick for a real-life colorblock look are these DvF separates: the Diane von Furstenberg Eris Blouse and Diane von Furstenberg Idola Midi Skirt. As seen on the runway, this crisp red-orange short-sleeved woven silk blouse features a boxy cut, with an asymmetrical hem, button closure at collar, hidden 6-button closure...

Weird winter animal hats – you decide: are they haute or not?
We first saw Khloe Kardashian sporting a hat resembling a stuffed animal around Halloween. We dismissed it as a cutesy costume, but then she took the look to the streets a few more times. Ke$ha, Lindsay Lohan, and Fergie have become fans of the furry and weird hats too, and voila – a new winter trend was born! We haven’t seen hats like these since we were kids, and perhaps the new fashion trend is to wear in adulthood whatever you wore as a child (remember the adult onesie?). We’re not sure if we love or hate these weird, stuffed animal-like winter hats, but secretly we have to...

We’ve picked out a few our our absolute favorite menswear-inspired fashion pieces that mix both masculine and feminine details and can be worn for both casual and evening occasions. The key is to choose oversized yet fitted and tailored items like this shirt by Elizabeth and James and statement pieces like this lust-worthy MICHAEL KORS watch in rose gold. This fall, try the...

Haute trend alert: leopard print
Everywhere you turn, you’ll see that leopard print is ruling both the runways and the real world. Style-conscious, trendsetting celebrities like Rihanna, Jessica Alba, Lady Gaga and the Kardashian sisters rock leopard print accessories and clothing. Even little Suri Cruise donned a pair of leopard print flats. The print works for any woman, at any age, but the key to wearing leopard is to stick to one piece – whether a top or dress; stilettos or booties; handbags or jewelry; even leggings and swimwear. Colored-print leopard adds an extra shot to any look but be careful not to overdo...
