Treat your Skin with Wembe natural soaps

I must admit, with the wave of body washes hitting the shelves, I’d pretty much abandoned bar soaps. When I learned about Wembe, the Paraguayan company that handcrafts all-natural soaps with ingredients from the rainforest, I was very excited to give bar soaps another try. After giving the daytime Aveeno Ageless Vitality Elasticity Recharging System a trial run, I was pleasantly surprised. Aveeno Ageless Vitality is a 2-step system that combines a biomineral concentrate (for wrinkles and age spots) followed by a SPF-30 rejuvenating day moisturizer. The biominerals feel soft and smooth going on, and once you put it on you almost forget that it is there. The facial moisturizer is much thicker, though, feeling a bit like you are applying sunblock at the beach. However, by using just a little less than you would use for a normal facial lotion, you can get a soft matte feel that lasts all day and gives your skin a smooth glow.

Burberry gets more beautiful - will launch color cosmetics line this July

We love to accessorize with Burberry – handbags, shoes, even fragrances so it’s about time they launched a Burberry makeup line too. WWD reports that the brand announced today that it will launch its first line of makeup this July. Christopher Bailey, Burberry’s creative director, said the line is a result of his frustrations with caky, off-color makeup at fashion shows. So, he did what any entrepreneur would do - he created his own makeup line.

The collection will consist of almost 100 beauty products, including a $24 lip pencil and a $59 foundation compact, and is licensed by Inter Parfums SA. The inspiration is said to be the iconic Burberry trenchcoat and Bailey commented: “Like the trenchcoat, it can be worn anywhere and at any time.” Additional products include liquid foundation, powder, eye shadow, mascara, eyeliner, lip gloss, lipstick, bronzer, and blush. The collection will be sold at Nordstrom.

We wonder if the product packaging will come in the lovely Burberry check print.

My afternoon with Aveeno and the Ageless Vitality Collection

Last Wednesday, I spent the afternoon feeling much like one of the Real Housewives of New York. Cocktails, lunch and chatting with the most fashionable set of ladies on the open rooftop of the Gramercy Park Hotel – sounds just like the TV show, right? Actually it was a blogger/editor luncheon hosted by Aveeno.
