What’s in your bag?

For me, the answer to that question has evolved quite a bit. I used to carry pretty much everything in my bag but the kitchen sink! From beauty items to snacks, an extra pair of shoes, paperwork and occasionally, my laptop, I was prepared for anything. It was almost as if I needed all the comforts of home with me at all times. Plus, I’ve always been a fan of large handbags. But after years of toting purses the size and weight of a small child, I decided it was time to downsize a bit. Over the past few years, I began carrying smaller, crossbody style bags, like this Proenza Schouler PS11 which is my favorite everyday bag. Because of its petite size, I now carry only the absolute essentials that I need to get me through each day.

Here’s what’s in my bag:
Brush and comb
I always have to keep my hair looking good. Occasionally I’ll carry a small container of some sort of smoothing hair product, too.

Three lipsticks
My lipstick ‘mood’ changes from day to day, so I always keep a variety of shades on hand. Even though it’s technically Spring, it still feels like Fall & Winter to me, so my lip picks include the season’s colors, including a neutral, deep red and purple/plum shade. I’ll switch them up when the weather gets warmer.

Facial powder, concealer and makeup brush
Along with my BB Cream, these are what I use on my face on a daily basis. They’re great to have whenever I need a quick makeup touch up throughout the day.

A pen
I frequently use the Notes feature on my phone, but there’s still plenty of times when I need to jot something down the old school way! So I always keep this pink pen with me.

My car and house keys
How else will I get around during the day, and get home in the evening?

Stylish eyewear
I have super sensitive eyes, so I always need something stylish to shield them. I typically carry one or two pairs of aviator sunglasses to shield my eyes from the sun, and of course, my black rimmed eyeglasses, so I can see!

Travel size perfume
I always carry a travel size version of my favorite fragrance so I can always smell good throughout the day!

A small zip wallet
I have a ton of huge wallets but this studded one is my fave. It’s small and perfectly fits my cash and credit cards so I can easily access them.

Extra® Gum
I am the go-to girl for gum. Everyone knows I always carry at least two packs in my purse! I love Extra® Gum Spearmint flavor as well as Extra® Gum Polar Ice®, to keep my breath fresh.

The new Extra® 35-stick packs are great because they have more gum inside (yay!), but they’re still the perfect size to fit in my bag.
