Thee’s a new shoe in town and two celebrity ladies are already fans of the sold out collection! Singers Idina Menzel and Carrie Underwood have both been spotted recently wearing the ‘Carmela’ pump from American fashion designer Henri Lepore Dezert‘s Fall/Winter 2014 debut collection.
Last month, Idina attended the 2014 Drama Desk Awards Nominees Reception at Essex House in New York City wearing a dress with a burgundy leather bodice and pleated black skirt by Lela Rose dress, along with a burgundy Judith Leiber clutch, and the Carmela Crossback Pumps ($1095) in premium red (burgundy) patent leather.
Earlier this month, Carrie attended the Samsung Hope For Children Gala 2014 in New York City, dressed in a one-shoulder, chevron print Rubin Singer dress, paired with a metallic clutch and the same Carmela Crossback Pumps in premium matte black calfskin leather.
The 4″ heels feature goatskin suede piping throughout, and a T-strap front with crossback ankle strap. They have a padded insole, leather lining and a leather sole. Each of Henri Lepore Dezert’s shoes are handmade in Italy.
Currently the ‘Carmela’ pump is sold out but and the website says “due to high demand, this item is currently unavailable for pre-order, it will be made available for immediate order and delivery beginning August 15, 2014.”
And here’s a little bit about the designer:
“Henri Lepore Dezert is an American born fashion designer of French and Italian lineage.Henri’s designs evoke an ethereal aura that appeal to an international clientele. His selection of nouveau-European leathers and components are eloquently complimented with a handcrafted Italian shoemaking process that has matured over hundreds of years. Each shoe is individually made by hand in Henri’s shoemaking factory in Milan, Italy.”
So who wore these Henri Lepore Dezert Carmela pumps better: Idina Menzel or Carrie Underwood? And will you be buying a pair of his shoes for yourself?
